well...
my waters broke at 1pm and went into he hospital at 2:30pm to be cheked out while waiting in triage my contractions started bit irratic and weak, there were too many girls in triage so i went round to labour suite to be checked there. after an hour or so my contraction were getting stronger. the only way i can describe contraction is like someone pumping a ball up inside my tummy and then releasing it, and with everyone i lost more water.
i had a wonderful student nurse who stayed with me, i was checked and i was 2-3 cm so i was given half hour to see if i progressed or could go home i said i'd stay as i didnt feel right. after 15 to 30 mins i was geting lots of contractions the student took my bp listened in etc but then left the room to fetch another midwife. my bp had shot through the roof and had a temp of 38.9 also had +3 protein. so had to go over to the consultant side to be monitored. so much for my relaxing water birth.
by the time i got to the other ward my contractions were back to back and was 5cm. the mw took a look at my bp etc called the doctor, by this time my oh as grey and i had my arms round his neck saying 'i dont like it' lol.
she then told me to lie on my left as baby heartbeat dropped with each contraction and she put a probe on his head.
i dont know what happened next but te next minute i was looking at the oh out of it, the the doctor pressing buzzers and being rushed down a corridor a nurse ripping my earings out on the move and a man talking god knows what to me. apparently babies heart rate had dropped to 50bpm to 30bpm so were doing a crash section on me. when i got into theatre they tipped the bed up and baby heart rate picked up so they managed to do a spinal.
they bought oh in and he was white as a sheet apparently when the doctor said right thats it everyone out lets go right now my oh started getting my suitcases to take into theatre lol.
they kept me in 4 days and i had 2 blood transfusions and antibiotics for an infection somewhere. breastfeeding turned into a disaster as he were tongue tied which the mw sorted but by then he'd made me sore after a nite of latching and de latching and then he refused me all together at one point which traumatised me a bit on top of the hormones etc spent 2 days sobbing but thats normal anyway.
but all thats in the past and my family is complete and i'd do it all again in a flash i cant wait for the future to happen...
anyway baby Rhys was born 9:46pm weighing a whopping 8lb 8oz. and he is a total cuddly boy who loves to snuggle into my neck for loves.
it took us nearly 3 yrs to concieve our little man blood tests galore and plenty of drugs he's here now and he is so precious we are completely bowled over by him and me and the oh cant stop looking at him.
i feel so in love with my oh for giving me my gorgeous boy and i thank him every morning.
