Hi All

My LO is 3 1/2 weeks old and is now being formula fed. (was BF for first 3 weeks but I was miserable and depressed...another story)

Anyway we started her on aptamil as that is what she had in the hospital when I was in special care (again another story lol) but lately after a feed she never seems to settle, she just crys and whinges no matter what we do to help.

We try cuddling her, sitting her up, giving her a bath etc etc and she just isn't happy and keeps crying. We have tried colic deops (dentinox) and they havent really helped so I am now thinking maybe she doesnt like the milk?. Shes mostly like this during the evening/night but was also like this for the past two mornings.

She drinks about 3-4oz on average every 3-4 hours and pees and poops regulary so shes definatly getting enough and passing it through.

Could it be the milk not satisfying her or do we keep going with the dentinox for colic? (I've also got infacol as that was suggested to me)

It sounds more like colic as shes drinking the milk fine....I dont want to keep switching brands as I dont want to make her sick plus its expensive.

xxxxxx

Honestly, I don't know. When ds was little we did a lot on instincts. However there is part of me that would suggest buying a carton of another formula and trying your LO on that.

Ds started off with Aptimal, but we soon changed to C&G and found that he preferred this. It also stopped the problems we were having with his lack of weight gain.

Heya. Its very common for babies to be more unsettled in the evenings (not sure of the exact reason though!). If you think that its the milk making her fussy then there is no harm in trying another brand. If you think she could be extra colicky then maybe try comfort milk? Its especially for babies who suffer with colic and/or constipation. Aptamil, C&G and SMA all do their own comfort milk. xxx

She seems a little bit better lately so will stick with Aptamil for now, I dont want to keep switching and confusing her little tummy.
