Riley's huge weight gain - 6 weeks

hello ladies

i got Riley weighed yesterday, and he is a whopping 11lb 7oz (5.2 kgs) and he is 6 weeks tomorrow.

He was born 7lb 15oz (3.6 kgs), then at day 5 he was 7lb 9oz (3,42kgs), then at day 11 he was 7lb 15oz (3.57kgs) and at day 20 he weighed 8lb 11oz (3.92kgs). and finally at 5weeks 5 days he was 11lb 7oz (5.2 kgs)

I knew he would have put on a bit of weight as he felt really heavy but i didnt expect this much weight gain.

According to this he is on the 85th percentile. i mean i am chuffed about the weight gain, he is a very healthy baby (touch wod) and he has a big appetite but it just seems a lot.. Should i be worried?

You can't overfeed a breastfed baby, so I wouldn't worry about it.

My LO jumped from 50th to 93rd Centile when he was 8 weeks, and has stuck with that now.

Have you spoken to your HV about it?

You can't overfeed a breastfed baby, so I wouldn't worry about it.

My LO jumped from 50th to 93rd Centile when he was 8 weeks, and has stuck with that now.

Have you spoken to your HV about it?

i didnt, we didnt receive any more visits, but the nurse that was checking him over wasnt worried about anything, she just said we have it all figured out, she just asked a couple of times if he was breastfed all the time, she had to make sure i didnt give him any formula..

Are his weights plotted on a graph? Are you using the new chart for breastfed babies? Breastfed babies often gain a lot of weight early on, then level out.
