Our gorgeous guinea pig, Herbert, has passed away. He was only 2 
I don't know what happened to him - he was fine when I fed him yesterday but today when I went outside he didn't start squealing as soon as I opened the door, which was unusual for him, and his food and water looked untouched. I said his name and usually he comes out for that, but there was no movement at all. I could see him in the little nesting compartment and I couldn't bring myself to lift the lid of the hutch - I just knew he had gone
When DH came home he went to check for me, and he said he was definitely gone but he looked as if he had just gone to sleep, lying on his side. Poor little man. I wish I knew what had happened to him.
