Rolling over- when did your baby do this?

My son rolled once by chance at about 2.5 months but nothing until now recently he has begun rolling, again only when he really stretches and tries to get something which isn't often!! (he is 6 months now) I wouldn't be worried TBH, my daughter didn't roll until very late and never crawled, not all kids will do their milestones by the book and some will miss them completely! (my daughter never crawled and got up and walked at 21 months!)

I wouldn't worry - Tom rolled front to back at about 5 to 6 months but didn't roll back to front until around 9 months but he hated being on his front so had no reason to try and get on it until he wanted to learn to crawl. He crawled at 10 months and then walked on his own at 14 months.

Some babies do roll really early and others take their time. It really doesn't matter - they all get there when they are ready.

8 weeks front to back consistently, hes not even close to going the other way yet tho x

My LO is 10 months and has rolled back to front less than a handful of times - she really struggles with it and hates being on her tummy so doesn't want to roll. Because she screams blue murder when we put her on her tummy she doesn't get time to practice front to back.

She's just fine not doing it. She's crawling now when everyone said "how will she learn to crawl if she won't roll over into the crawling position?" (she sat very early and was happier being sat up playing and now just leans forward and flips her legs behind her to crawl).

I really wouldnt worry about it

Abby rolled once at 4 months. She never did it again!

The mum at the baby group shouldn't be shocked. Babies develop at different rates and some never roll.

In fact, I'm quite annoyed that she even made a suggestion of practicing. Who the hell is she to advise you? Tell her to wind her neck in, nosy cow!

 spot on!!!

Alex was actually much later than you all, not sure exactly though!

Tori was 3 months but by god she hates it so much

my LO is 4.5 months old, and he has been tryiing to roll over since he was 2 months old, but couldnt, used to get real upset about it!, and to be honest recently we thought he might never be able to do it, people said he would suprise us when we least expected it, but i didnt believe them.

Until, 2.30am, i get up to check on him, in his cot, and hes on his tummy with his face buried into the mattress (which is why i had to do a seperate post on here about that).

I was suprised, and now theres no stopping him!.

Rolled front to back - 5 months
Back to front - not yet
