Hi everyone. After an emotional journey over 2 years TTC I finally got my rainbow baby! Our yellow bump turned blue! My son Was born on the 14.04.2013 at 16.48 weighing 8lb 11oz!! His name is Bjorn and he is beautiful.
The story starts at 1.30am on the 14th of April. I started getting period pains. They were not to painful but they were coming and going about every ten mins so I thought (and hoped!) this would be the beginning of labor!
By 5.30 am the pains were a little stronger and more regular: about once every 5mins. I decided to go and get checked out at the hospital.
The mw examined me and told me she could get a finger in my cervix so I was in very early labour and to go home and rest and come back when the contractions are 3in 10 mins and nice and strong.
So went home contractions started getting much more painful. At 14.30 I had had enough of the pain and decided to go to the hospital even though the contractions were still 10mins apart...they Hurt alot!
Went back to L&D, was 2cm, they broke my waters, took me to my labour room. I was in complete agony! I could not believe I could be in so much pain and be only 2cm! I freaked out immediately! If it was this painful at 2cm what would it be like at 8-10?!! I asked for an epidural and was annoyed with myself for not having a high pain threshold! But then I felt like I really needed to poop I told the mw and she checked me again and I was 10cm! Had gone from 2-10cm in 1hr! So no epidural! At least I knew my pain threshold wasn't too bad!
So no pain relief what so ever I was told to start pushing! I was terrified! I Pushed for 40 mins, then he was born! It was painfull and hard work but I just instantly feel in love! He was perfect!
I had to have an episiotomy. My DH held the baby as I was being stitched up, which was beautiful to see.
So that was it! Less then 2 hours of established labour! Super painful but was lovely to have it over and done with so quickly!
He is a great little breast feeder! It's sore but worth it! My wound from the episiotomy is a little infected now so on antibiotics, but he is so worth it all!
