Evie is BF on demand.
This could be every hour or every 4 hours but I'd love to get her onto a routine but don't know how.

Obviously nothing strict to start with just a loose one to see how we get on.

How often roughly should she BF a day and how long each feed?

How can I start to introduce it slowly?

Advice very much appreciated

my boys have had a 3 hour routine during the day when being breastfed, i start it from the time they wake up and work on feeds no sooner than every 2 hours and no longer than every 3 1/2 hours but it tends to work out to 3 hours near to the miniute with EJ lol i also bring the last feed to a 2 hour interval and that i find helps him sleep better as hes fuller when he goes to bed, at 2 months old 5-8 feeds in 24 hours is fine , EJ does 6 ever 24 hours, and sleeps from 9- 6/7, and he feeds on the breast for about 20-30min over both sides or takes an 8oz bottle of expressed milk ( but he is a big boy weighing in at over 18lbs a smaller baby wouldnt probably cope with 8 oz 6 times a day )

Thanks Hun
I'll think tmw I'll start writing down her feeding Nd sleeping times and duration and try and work to that - do you think that's a good starting point?

*nods* I tried to feed every 3 hours in the day until he was established on solids, then 'whenever he wanted' at night.

I used to do 7.30am, 10.30am, 1.30 - 2.00pm 5pm 6.30pm dream feed at 11pm then as wanted in the night. It seemed to do the trick as from 3 - 5 months he then slept through after the 11pm feed.

Duration of feed I just used to do however long he fed for! Some days (eg growth spurts) he would need feeding more often - maybe every 2 hrs, but if he was seeming fine and not hungry I used to offer at the times above to get us into a pattern of feeding more in the day than at night.

at the start i fed isabel every 3hrs if she didnt wake i woke her now shes settled more or less into her own routine n feeds every 3-4 hrs in the day but this gets shorter as the day goes on her last feed before bed ends up 2 hrs after the last she'll feed for 15-20mins generally but her last feed at night n first in the morning are longer

I think Alfie is a snacky eater, he feeds for 5-10 mins at a time and can go anywhere between 1hr - 4hrs between feeds. Thankfully he only wakes once or twice during the night. I'm terrible with routines, Evie is only in a bedtime routine now at 3 so I've never been one to follow one lol!
