Hi i started drink RTL last week and had done for 3 days i was getting really strong type period pains every hour.... as i thought it may be due to the tea i stopped and only had slight Bh since. Any one else experienced this? dont no weather to drink it or not now? x

I'm sure it's not from that. From what I've learned RTL will help during the second phase of labour. It's not meant to bring labour on. Some doctors encourage women to drink it in the early 1st trimester to strengthen uterine muscles. Of course, if you think there's a correlation, I'd stop doing it, might just be mind over matter!

I have heard it can bring on BH... if they are too much for you then lower your dosage or stop taking them :) x

i would say they are most definitely brought on by the tea! i get them too after drinking it. xx

I am taking the capsules and not feeling a thing! Maybe I should switch to the tea!? x

i've heard the tea is stronger - and it's actually quite nice! not at all sickly as i thought it would be. xx

ooh i might have to give it a try! does it taste like tea though? because normal tea makes me heave  x

it doesn't taste like normal tea - have you ever tried any herbal teas? it's like a leafy taste, but with a little hint of raspberry, not sweet though..... hard to explain! if you've ever tried herbal teas you'd kinda know what they taste like though (weird). i'm sure it's a taste you could get used to! xx

emma u have sold it to me :haha: i'll try a cup tomoro!! can u put honey/sugar in to sweeten it up a bit? x

i don't see why not! you might not need it though... see how you go! hope you like it, don't blame me if you don't though :haha: xx

haha i'll try one tomoro morning!! i'll let u know how i get on!! (sorry for the randomness on your thread bolton_smiler :D) lol xx

I put a spoonful of sugar in mine and it tastes like warm ribena when you have a cold! I hated it without as not a big herbal tea drinker. Definatly doesn't taste of normal tea as I'd want to drink it by the bucket load!

Haven't brought on BH for me as far as I know. Ive had contractions, but not RLT related. I have heard they can do as they strengthen your uterine muscles.

Well some people say it induces labour other says it just shorterns labour.

MY experience it shortens it.

I took the tablets 3 times a day with a cup of tea or hot milk every day from 36 weeks (till i had him at 38 weeks)
and my active labour was only 41 mins!

I have noticed a few BH with these tablets iv been taking and u can undo the tablets n make it into tea.

Thankyou for all your replies, i still havent had any since i was gettin painful type period pains, i may try 2morrow and see if i get them again xx i think it taste horrendus!! ;-)

Although raspberry leaf won't induce labour it does stregthen the uterus which is why your bh feels stronger as bh prepare your uterus for the real thing.

I took it with my daughter and got strong bh and had a 4 hour labour with her. I'm taking it this time and although I notice bh they aren't painful just really really uncomfy! x

All fruity herbal teas taste the same to me. Literally just had my first cup of RLT and it tastes the same as my Cherry and Cinnamon herbal tea lol.
Only my green tea tastes different, yummy!!

I started drinking 1 cup at 32 weeks, 2 cups at 34 weeks and 3 cups at 36 weeks. I'm now 37+1 and haven't had any BH at all.
