We had our baby girl! Two days early! She was born July, 18th at 8:21am. Weighting in at 7 lbs, 7 oz, and 19.5 in long. She is beautiful and we are truly blessed. I had a good birth experience, and in the end the pain was worth everything.
I had a sweep on Monday the 16th, and that night I started getting light period like cramps and lots of bloody show. I was hoping it was something but worried it was false labor. The next day I still had the cramps, mild, and annoying, sometimes a little stronger. I tried to stay active and ignore them. I made cupcakes, walked my dog, got a facial and by 12pm I started to think I was getting contractions. Never had any before so I wasnt sure. Hubby got home around 3:30 and I was for sure having them and trying not to freak out. I had tons of pain in my thigh, hip, and back with each contraction. Some how I managed to power through and by 10PM I let hubby call the hospital to say we were on the way. Got there around 11PM and I was 5cm dilated already. So we set me up for an epidural and then I got to relax for a while. The midwife broke my waters and by 5AM I was 10cm and they wanted me to start pushing. My epidural was wearing off by then, so I felt A LOT! I felt her crowing, and the pain in my thigh and hip got worse and worse, felt worse then the contractions themselves. I pushed for a little over two hours. My contractions started to slow down after the first hour so they gave me pitocin, which made them HURT so bad. I had a 1st degree tear up inside. (I felt her stitch it back up, not pleasant.) Rory finally arrived, screaming and a full head of black hair. It was amazing. She is beautiful and I am so proud that I was able to do this all. We are a blessed little family.
