Hi all, we've been ttc for 18 months now, had a mc at start of May. We had decided before the BFP that OH would get his SA done as he would be in uk and seeing his dr. His results were as follows

Viscosity: Normal
Volume (ml): 2
Sperm concentration (millions/ml): 15
Total number present (millions): 30
Motility: 25%
Progression (1-4): 2
Morphology normal forms (%): 20

He has been taking fertilman vitamins (he does miss a few days) and flax seed. Is this anything to worry about as his dr just said to keep at it as the sperm he has are good  I just don't want it to take another 18 months before BFP if there is more we can do to improve.
I also saw gynae who just told me to call when I next got AF and he would tell me when to go in (he said same to a friend and just told her when she would ovulate according to scan of ovaries)

Sperm count is a little low. They usually like to see it over 20 million.

Motility is low. I don't know about in the UK, but in the US, they like it to be over 40-50%

Morphology is low. In the US, they like it to be over 40%.

I'm surprised your Dr was okay with the numbers. Although they aren't terrible, they aren't the greatest. With that being said, all it takes is one so don't think your chances are completely gone. So many women have gotten pregnant with low sperm counts/motility issues/morphology issues.

Good luck and lots of :dust:

She said they were all below normal and to retest again in 6 weeks. But because we had managed to get BFP I think that's why she said to just keep at it and wasn't too worried at the minute

It's the same thing with my hubby. He has 2 kids from his previous marriage so they aren't as worried about his counts. Also, sperm count can increase. For my DHs SA, he had 53 million. The first IUI DH and I did we had 12 million per ml. We just did a second IUI and his count was 27 million. So, it can definitely change from one time to another!

I'm just glad we've got some kind of starting point now with his SA and we did manage a BFP, next step is improving the SA and hopefully making a sticky bean! I've got an appointment next week for a scan to check ovarian function, my dr wants to start with non invasive things first.
Good luck for this cycle :dust:
