sad i will have to leave her

Not really do-able, i wishit was would make more sense. My mum studies after she gets in from work, sometimes shes home at 5 and sometimes its 7 so its unreliable, then she studies for uni. My sister has lots of activities on too, sometimes needs picked up at 9pm, even 10, plus she has her standard grades soon so has to study and then next year will have highers. So evenings are not really an option as far as them watching ava goes. Esp as 4 nights a week my sister needs picked up later on. Ava goes to bed at 7.30. Its easier to go a full day than an evening. :(

Maybe once my mum finishes studying, but i highly doubt it would work,

would you not get student loan? i was never richer than when i had my student loan lol

x

hey hun, im not sure about the money situation sorry as im from australia so im sure ours are different..but try and look at going back to work as a positive thing.i know she is so very young and i did wait til mikayla was 6months to go back but i find my three 5 hour shifts a week to be my time out..my chance to get out of the house and then there are still plenty of days to spend being with her..you might find once you have a day or two a week at work that you will enjoy it =) goodluck job hunting.
p.s whats the job oppertunities like over there?i know its meant to be pretty bad some parts of the world..just curious =)

Ellie no i wouldnt get a loan cos ive already been to uni and used it up, plus i dont want to add to that debt! :( BUT if i do nursing ill get a bursary! Also found out i wont get HB if im a student so it would be going directly on that.. so not sure.

Nah theres not many jobs atm here, but im not looking for anything fancy, receptionist or in a shop for now will do!

Hey hunni just thought i'd give you a break down on what you would be entitled to as a student nurse as you situation is similar to mine and your also in scotland so its diff to the english system, hope it helps. I am a single mum at the moment too and i am entitled too basic bursary £548, dependants £220, single parent £108 and childcare allowance £98 per month working out at £974 nursing student obviously arent entitled to a student loan. You will get child tax credits and child benefit too. Ok as a single parent you will get housing benefit roughly £160 per month as they take into account your bursary and dependants allowance, you dont pay council tax though. Now you will notice that SAAS only give £98 a month towards childcare so a lot of your money will be eaten up with childcare because youll need full time nursery because uni timetable changes each week. One week you could be in two days, next week 3 or 4 its constantly changing. Placements are 32 hours a week and it includes very unsociable hours, 12 hour shifts, night shifts, weekends etc it is hard going espscially with a baby when your doing shifts and trying to do exams and essays but it is do able remember that. Looking at it sounds a lot but when your paying out over £400 a month nursery and £500 a month rent it isnt. Any questions just ask x
