No abnormal hormonal findings with initial bloodwork, I have a saline ultrasound next week, anyone else had one of these? Not sure what to expect.

*We have been ntnp (I say ntnp because we don't plan bd or anything but I know my cycle very well) for over a year, but recently I've had post ovulation bleeding from about cd14 on, and af ussualy arrives cd33.

I had a horribly awkward experience with my ultrasound, but I think it was the doctor & nurse who made it that way.

Basically they will have you lay back as they would for a transvaginal ultrasound or any routine checkup. They then use the speculum to get a good look in there and they insert a small, thin plastic tube that goes through your cervix. It may be slightly uncomfortable, but it should not be painful. Once it, then inflate a little balloon in the tube to keep it in place, and they will start filling your uterus with the saline.

They'll get the ultrasound wand and put that inside your vaginal canal (NOT in the uterus) to get a look as to what's going on. After that they take out the wand, deflate the balloon, and the saline will leak out, and that's it!
