On 24th February at 9:41 weighing 9 pounds exactly, Samuel showed himself.

On Monday at 9 30 I had a stretch and sweep, it was slightly uncomfortable but not to bad. Nothing happened apart from a bit of cramp, which after having a nap went. Nothing happened on tuesday, actually felt a bit better.

On wednesday went out for lunch and was experiencing a bit of cramp, but assumed I had eaten too much lol. Went back to my boyfriends were I was having contractions {6:00pm} which were bearable, decided to go home where I went to the toilet and noticed a very large amount of green discharge, showed it to my mum who said I needed to be checked out. Went to the birthing centre at 9:00 and was seen by a VERY patronizing M/W who kept asking me if I knew what green was ! :dohh: she then went on to say I couldnt be in labour as I could still talk ! {I spoke the whole time I was in labour!} she put me on a monitor and could see the contractions, and checked baby. She then said I needed to go the hospital and shooed me away [horrible cow]

Arrived at the hospital at 11:00ish where I was hooked up to a monitor and given a check up. They decided the green discharge was most likely due to meconium in the waters and broke my waters as I was 8 days overdue and having regular contractions. I was then moved to a labour room and told Samuels heart wasnt picking up accelarations and needed to stay on the monitor the whole time. When I arrived I was 2cm dilated and by 1:00 was 4cm, I was managing to breath through the contractions and didnt use any gas and air [Im a wimp ! so quite happy :)] Seen a specialist who wasnt happy with Samuels heart beat and said he would check back in two hours. Two hours later there was still no accelerations, so he decided to call in his colleague. At 5:00 I was still no further dilated but experiencing worse contractions, there was also still no accelerations. The specialists decided to take a scraping from Sam's head to check his oxygen levels, this was the worst part for me ! They were quite rough and the object inserted was very large ! I was screaming and sobbing, and being told to remain still which really wasnt helping ! The m/w then held the gas and air in my mouth and told me NOT to remove it [trust me if your going to use, dont remove it! it takes you out of the room and leaves you watching it not feeling it :)]

The samples came back ok but not the best, m/w's decided to speed up process and give me something to get the contractions really going as they had slowed down but continued getting worse. Decided if this was the case I wanted an epidural and just as this was done. The 'main man' came in to see me {9:00} and said he wasnt happy as everything seemed to have a complication and I needed an emergency ceasarean. Was taken down to the operating room, OH came down in his 'scrubs' looking very handsome :) and the process began {9:39} and at 9:41 Sam was pulled out :)

He needed his heart stimulated and had to have the pooh suctioned out. He also had the cord wrapped around his neck.
So from 9 PM TO 9 AM [roughly] I had a baby :)

I was worried about wasting the birthing centres time, but Im so glad I called as they wouldnt have been able to deal with problems I had.

I left the hospital on friday at about 5pm. Samuel really is perfect :)
Thank you for all your support xxx
