Sandwiches

We do cheese (dairylea), jam, peanut butter, tuna and mayo etc. I don't put butter on any of those sandwiches because the fillings are 'wet' if you know what I mean. I personally see butter as something to moisten up dry bread and don't add it to these kinds of sandwiches for me. I would use it for chicken or ham etc.

MissJess - that's probably why I found it so difficult to find butter when I lived in Montreal  And that white margarine drove me absolutely nuts :haha:

We always have Lurpak unsalted on sandwiches for LO. The fats are good for her. I even use it if it's a sticky filling like cream cheese  That's on the advice of my HV right enough, because my LO is itty, so we sneak in extra calories where we can :)

I generally put butter in sandwiches for Daphne, she doesn't have butter on her toast tho, she likes jams on its own. So far I've only done ham sandwiches occassionally which she generally pulls apart atm to eat.

I use marg, and my LO has ham, dairylea or tuna. Normally only give him hard cheese on toast melted, but thats just because I don't like cheese unless its melted!!!

I use butter or marg - depending on what I chose to have in my sandwiches. LO also has whatever I have as a filling (anything!)

Grace doesn't like processed meat so will only have Philadelphia/Dairylea or cheese. Occasionally I put butter on them if it's cheese so it doesn't all fall out

don't use butter here either. I was quite appalled the first time I saw hubby's family do it  I thought it was a Canadian thing but I guess not

Hannah doesn't eat many sandwiches, maybe every 2 weeks we do nutella, sometimes peanut butter and banana or peanut butter and jelly. She'll eat deli meats but generally that is with crackers and bits of cheese.

Sometimes we do an egg or omelet plus fruit for her lunch

Amelie has all sorts on hers but we use marg cos my butter (i use it for baking) is in the fridge and rock hard LOL Her favs are peanut butter, ham, cheese, phili and tuna.

I use philadelphia or cheese spread for the girls and only usually use butter if they have toast.

Our form tutor in secondary school was Canadian, and always found it weird that we put butter on everything!

We always use butter/marg on sandwiches. Ryan is a skinny-minny and we try to add little extras to help keep his weight up a little.

In sandwiches we normally have;
cheese, ham, chicken, tuna, cheese spread, sometimes add cucumber or sweetcorn

Funny how not everyone puts butter in there snadwiches! I only do it because it helps stick the sandwhich together , otherwise its quite dry i thought!

Ellas favs are lamb and mint
Pork and apple sauce
plougmans sandwhich
Bacon and lettuce
These usualy dont need butter in! Other simple ones i find do :)

I dont use butter in my sandwiches. I used to and then I started slimming world and the other day I had butter and I didnt actually like it very much. I usually have philly. Even on toast I dont tend to have butter just philly or marmite, I dont mind it dry! lol

I see quite a few saying they use butter with like ham.....do yall not use mayo there? Or would you use both? Here just about everyone uses mayo on their meat and cheese type sandwiches so they aren't dry...just never heard of butter being used for that
