Sasha for a girl

I like it, it's uncommon and pretty. I guess some may say it's a bit 'dated', but I wouldn't not use it for that reason.

That's my daughter's name, so obviously I love it. Uncommon but easy to say and spell. The only downside we have noticed is that sometimes when people see her name in print, they are not sure if Sasha is a boy or a girl. But we don't think that is a big deal. There are so many names nowadays that can be used for either a boy or a girl.

It is a unisex name to me and fine for a girl. My grandma has a female dog called Sasha and I think it's a pretty name.

I would 100% say girls name. I love the name but its our dogs name as we didnt plan more children :( we seriously hand on heart considered changing the dogs name so we can use it. I absolutely love it. Strong but pretty! X

I've known a few dogs with this name, so it's always going to be that for me. But it is a pretty name. I much prefer it for girls than boys :flower:

I know that Sasha is a unisex name but honestly where I am, I think some people would be confused if they met a boy called Sasha. It's really mainly just a girl's name here.

I like it, as someone else said, it's pretty, and easy to spell. I know a couple of Sasha's... So I wouldn't use it, but in saying that it is not a common name.
I say go for it!

Not sure how it is in England, but I only know of females named Sasha here in the US. My sister's name is Sasha =)

I like it but would never use it as it really doesn't work with our surname

Hi, my cousin has just had a little boy and named him Sascha. My first reaction was surprise because I went to school with a Sasha (girl) and babysat for a woman whose dog was Sasha (girl). Now it's just my baby 2nd cousins name and it suits him and I've not thought of it as a girls name since. When my cousin gets talking to strangers they say "what's his name?" And she replies "Sascha" so they say "oh I'm sorry, it's a little girl!" And she says "no, it's a boy" and they just look confused! Haha! So in the uk I think it's more common as a girl name xxxx

Thanks ladies. Anyone else? What impression would you have of a woman with if you saw the name Sasha on a CV?

I wouldn't form any particular impression.

But, I was reading about a female engineer who was very qualified but could not find a job. She'd submit her resume (I think her name was Denise) but she'd hear nothing back. Someone pointed out that she worked in a male-dominated field. So she switched her resume to D. Smith instead of her full first name. Bingo- the requests for interviews came in.

Terrible that it's like that, but perhaps a name like Sasha, that could be for boys or girls, is an advantage.

As it was said already, Sasha (Alexandra) is a unisex name and I think it's very beautiful name! :)

I love Sasha for a girl but not so keen for a boy. It is on our list for baby if baby is a girl. Beautiful and not overly popular.
