I´ve not been online for the last couple of days as we´ve had family staying, so been rushed off my feet.
Had my first scan last Thursday and we finally saw a heartbeat!! Weh hey. Now I know there is definately something inside of me. We could see the sac very clearly and a little white blob pumping away!!! I was originally given 23 July as a rough date of birth, but now we´ve been given 29th July, which has thrown a spanner in the works as my brother is getting married in England on the 28th - so looks like we´re gonna have to miss it!!!
I literally had my scan and then drove straight to the airport to pick up my mum and my auntie and had to keep quite about it for the whole time, til my husband got home with more copies of the scan picture. We made them a Christmas card and put the picture inside - they´d been chattering away all evening and we literally gobsmacked them when they opened the card!!!! My mum said she´d only been say that lunchtime, that she didn´t expect me to have any children anytime soon and that it would be my brother that gave her the first grandchild!!! How wrong can you be!!!! At least I told her on her 60th birthday, so as an official OAP she is def old enough to be a grandma, as she always said she didn´t want to to be a young one!!!
We did the same thing to my brother and his girlfriend when they arrived at ours the following evening and it was hugs and tears all around - luckily they are very cool about us possibly not making their wedding - will just have to hope the baby comes early!!
Was a brilliant way to tell the family, rather than by text or email, which as we live abroad is often the case. Still I am totally cream crackered from their stay - I slept for 13 hours straight through last night!!!
