Saying no to others holding baby

My lo's pediatrician didn't want lo to be passed around until she/he (I have two close in age) had gotten their four month shots, so we didn't really go to parties or anything until they were four months old.

I feel your pain!

We have a lot of smokers in our family and they don't understand/care about the cot death guidelines. I'm always having to be the evil parent that shrilly screams "have you recently smoked?!" when I see them lunging for her. DH 'forgets' to ask people so I'm always the bad one.

Have I had flack for this? You bet! But it's my baby and I will do whatever is best for her. The sling is fab for gatherings, or just tell people you're going to feed soon ;)

I literally loose my shit if people poke or touch my baby and wake her. Your baby your rules xx

I don't want people to hold my baby until she at least gets her first round of shots, so I won't be taking her out of the house until then and restricting visitors. Only family who have gotten their shots and have common sense (i.e. won't hold her if they have a cold) are allowed to visit- and those few people actually help us with baby.

With my 3rd no one held her from 2days old-8mths old.

This time my OH has a huge family and I am looking forward to the passing around lol
