Scan pic as avatar

I've tried resizing my scan pic to make it my avatar but even though it is now only 6kb it is still not saving. If you could let me know what I'm doing wrong or even upload from your side that would be great! Thank you

What's the error message?

What format is the image (eg jpeg, gif ...)?

It doesn't give an error message it just says thanks for updating your profile and the avatar hasn't changed. It's a jpeg. Thanks xx
