Hi,

I'm 21 years old and in a long term relationship with my fiancée. We are not using protection and are just letting nature take its course.

After coming off the pill about 6 months ago and having my first period after this on 22nd December, I was sent for blood tests and scans at hospital.

The blood test results came back fine which was a huge relief! However the ultrasound has flagged up enlarged ovaries with many cysts!

I am feeling really down about this as having kids is hugely important to me. I am awaiting for my GP to receive my scan report and discuss what is wrong with me!

Is there anyone else that is in the same position or has been through a similar situation to this? Just looking for someone to talk to really  xx

Hiya, sorry to hear your going through a rough time. I'm sure if you speak to the doctor and let them know you are trying to conceive then they will get you on the right course to make that happen. I have got a scan on my ovaries at the end of the month and am stressing about it! We are also trying to conceive but I just keep on getting pains in my right side. Let me know what your doctor says, I know I'm not in your position but am always happy to chat if you ever need it x

Hi :) I have pcos & my ultrasound showed enlarged ovaries which are polycystic. I have had pcos all my adult life but managed to have 3children 2with no help & 1with clomid & my pcos is bad so there is hope. If you fancy a chat p.m me xx

Easy to be devastated when you hear that but please don't panic just yet - your goal of having kids is still on the table. That your bloodwork is normal is a good sign.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (first by blood test and follow-up scan to confirm) in late 2008 (age 28) and after about 6mths on medication (i had some insulin resistance) and further testing/scans I was told I wouldn't conceive without medical intervention.

So, when I found out I was pregnant in 2011 I was shocked and thrilled beyond words. He's 3 now and I have since had a second son without any issues conceiving/carrying.

It's not the end of the world or the end of your dreams. Wait til you find out exactly what's going on but if it is PCOS, there is management and medical assistance if you need it. :hugs:
