Scan says no ovulation, but temps rising!

I'm currently 9dpo, and had pain after ovulation so i had an ultrasound today.

I asked the sonographer if she thought I ovulated, she said "You won't get pregnant this month because you haven't ovulated, you have a cyst which has probably happened because the egg was never released, and your lining is too thin and it would be thicker"

So I was really sad, because my chart indicated ovulation has occurred and i've had some really nice temps.

I spoke to the consultant afterwards, and she said that the sonographer can't say I didn't ovulate because it could be a corpus luteum, or a random cyst that was already there anyway. She said my temps and regular cycle also suggest ovulation is occurring.

Could the sonographer not tell the difference between a corpus luteum or a follicular cyst? I feel so gutted now I don't know what to think!

I had a good feeling about this cycle too...

I would go with what your consultant said. The sonographer could have been mistaken and surely the consultant would know more about it.

Thank you, that's what i thought. but I can't get it out of my head now... now I am so worried that I have never been ovulating at all, and the egg has been getting trapped I wish she had never said anything! x

That's why sonographers are generally not supposed to say anything.

I was told by a doctor if I'm having very regular cycles, I'm almost guaranteed to be ovulating. I'm taking her at her word.

Thanks guys, I've also read that an ultrasound scan can't really tell if you've ovulated unless you were monitored before and during ovulation as well.

She's really upset me by telling my lining is thin, but wouldn't tell me HOW thin and just said "If you're trying to conceive you really need to stop stressing or you'll never get pregnant"
