Yippeee got my letter through today for my 12 week scan for next friday the 7th :headspin: which is great as is my 30th (oh man) on the 11th and I have a party on the 15th so was hoping to find out everything was ok rather than trying to come up with dodgy excuses why I wouldn't be drinking!!

Am nervous at the same time though and I have everything crossed that it is going to be ok

It didn't have any notes with the letter as to what I am supposed to do or bring? obviously bump!! but are you supposed to have a full bladder or something??

any help would be great - thanks ladies xx

Congrats !! Yup, full bladder, you should be busting for a pee by the time you go in there

Good Luck... mines on the 10th :happydance:

Post Piccies !!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks hun :)

oh excellent! make sure you do too!!

I will have to make sure I have morning pee though as I don't think I could hold that in til 11!! also are you peeing lots during the night? I am finding I am getting up at least 3/4 times a night is pants!

I'm like that through the day... but I try not to drink too much before I go to bed, so that I only get up once.. normalyy at about 3:30am on the dot  Although, I did wke up really suddenly at 1:30 ish the morning before last.... only to hear the next day that there'd been an earthquake !!

Everytime I go for a full bladder scan, I'm so obsessed by drinking enough, that I end up almost doubled over with the need to pee... and then the nurses turn round and say ' Just go and have a little one ' !!!!!!!! Try stopping yourself half way through a pee when you're busting !!!!!!!!

 that is control if you can stop half way through!! no way could I do that!! especially as you tend to enjoy the relief after holding it in you get side tracked !!!

am not too bad during the day just worse at nightime!

Did you feel anything with the earthquake or just woke up? my neighbour said he felt it...obviously didn't need a pee at that time for a change...

Nope.. I didn't feel a thing.. the dog wouldn't leave me alone though, she was acting a bit strange...
I went for a scan early on in this pregnancy, and I had a really old guy, a consultant do it. It was vaginal, as I was only 7 weeks. He sat right there almost like he was gonna have a conversation with my bean... and then proceeded to tell me that I had 'wonderful pelvic floor muscle for a lady who'd had 2 children' !!!! I nearly fell off the bed, I was mortified

 what a compliment!!!! was he looking in to your eyes when he said it

what usually happens at a first scan then hun? sorry to be ignorant but have no idea!! went to see the doctors twice after finding out as we found out quite late so haven't had a booking in appointment (i sound confident typing it but what is involved in that too?!!)

At 12 weeks, they normally like to date the pregnancy, measure the heartrate, and they can check for abnormalities in bone structure and the developemnet of the pregnancy. Like if the placenta is in the right place, the yolk sac has disappeared.... In the first weeks of pregnancy, the baby live of it's own yolk sac.. and then at about 9 weeks the placenta connects to you properly, and babe gets everything then from you. ( at least that's the way I understand it..??)

The 12 weeks scan is lush.. coz babe is fully formed, and you can see arms and legs and everything....

How do I get a ticker?! I went on to babygaga and went to ticker and it clicked on get my ticker after filling info in but I don't get a code? even if I got a code what am I supposed to do with it?

stupid from london

lol... I asked exactly the same thing when I joined b&b.. I kind of bodged my way through... You need to copy and paste the BBcode into your signature... which is in your user profile... It's the code with in it.

Everything will be fine for your scan, I'm sure.
