Hi -- Sorry long, but scared - Need others thoughts
I have been spotting for about five days now. My first ob visit was not until next week, so I called my healthcare and they had me see another ob. From my last menstrual, we thought I was about 7 weeks. He did an ultrasound and found the sac about 9 mm, but no heartbeat yet. He said I was either earlier than I thought or about to have a miscarriage. I asked if there was any way to know before my husband and I went to our first ob visit. He decided to take an HCG blood test. If the numbers were going up then the pregnancy was still proceeding, but if they went down then it was a miscarriage. They went up from 20,000 to almost 25,000 over two days. Still spotting though.
My husband and I thought well we conceived later than we thought. However, we were calculating the date that would be before we could hear a heartbeat and when I tested positive and it doesn't make any sense. Could a pregnancy test come out positive, if actual conception date was only one or two weeks before you test? I was always told no. I know the pregnancy tests say 7 days before your period, but does that actually occur. The difference for me is 7 weeks 3 days to less than 6 weeks (doctor thought - since no heartbeat and only 9mm sac - in the 5th week); nothing else could be seen on the ultrasound. Someone else told me that if the sac was 9mm, I should be in the 6th week and a heartbeat should have been heard.
Help - Scared that something is either wrong with the baby or will miscarriage any day.
