Well here goes... was really frustrated as i was 2 days overdue, so on the 3rd i decided i would get the train with a friend and have a long walk around the lake, whilst there i could feel period cramps really regular but thought nothing of it, at 5 o clock we got the train home and went to my local pub and i was speaking to the landlady and she said i would ring the hospital idf i was you, you might just have a good pain threshold, so at about 7 i rang them, they said to come straight in, when i got there i had a VE and i was 4cm!!! the MW said blimey you have a good pain threshold haha, that was at 8 clock, they said they would check progress again at twelve. So at twelve they checked and i hadnt progressed at all, but they were starting to hurt a bit so i got given Pethadine which didnt help at all! by 5 i told them it was painful so they gave me gas and air, that made me very sick and dizzy and didnt help at all. At 6oclock they checked again and i was 6cms, then i was sat down and my waters burst everywhere at about 7 at half past i had the epidural which only numbed my left hand side i could still feel all my right side, then at quarter to eight in the morning i told them i needed to push they said no you dont your only 6 so i shouted at them that i really did need to push and they checked and i was 10cm!!! i eventually had her at 8 28 am in the morning after 45 minutes pushing, she weighed 6 pound 13 and is an absolute angel. she sleeps right through and hardly ever cries shes wonderful! i love her to bits i called her Scarlett Rose xxxx
