Hello everybody/ I was considering trying to change my job and get a job in a school once I've had my son and he's about 1.

The kind of job I would be looking at would be dinner lady, admin or a school cleaner - something that would basically give me the same holidays as the kids.

I know these jobs are probably few and far between, and that a lot of mothers probably want the same kind of work to get the school holidays with their children.

I have looked around on the job centres website and on various agencies sites, but havent seen any jobs like these advertised. Does anybody know where to look for this kind of work? Would I have to apply directly to the schools themselves?

Thank you for taking the time to read this thread, I hope that somebody will be able to help. xxx

I'm not sure hun tbh, A few of the schools around here advertise themselves so applying direct may not be a bad thing but the rest seem to go through an agency or a council website.

Sorry thats no help but didn't want to read and run.

xxx

Thank you for the reply. I will probably ring the schools direct when the time comes to be honest as you just dont seem to see them advertised. xxx

Have you checked their website vacancy page.. I've seen a few dotted on them before now.

Yeah, I've just seen teaching vacancies on there though. It's more non-teaching vacancies I'd be going for. There must be a secret dinner ladies club and they hire internally, lol. xxx

The local authoridy will do a weekly jobs bulletin which includes things like teaching assistant jobs. To be honest, in my experience, MDSA jobs tend to go up on a poster in the reception area or on the school website.

Thank you. I'm best asking in the schools themselves then from the sounds of it. xxx

I work in a school and all school vacancies go on the borough website. So it is probably best to look at that.

local council website will have a jobs section where they will advertise
