LO is on Aptimal comfort milk and has been for about a week and half. She was also having Dentinox which i have now stopped as she is no longer constipated.
She has been suffering from trapped wind/mild colic hense her being on the comfort milk.
Yesterday morning and this afternoon she just exploded and I mean exploded with Diarrhoea, she didnt make a fuss though but it was everywhere.:nope:
Im considering weaning her onto normal Aptimal milk now as obviously she doesnt need any help with constipation but she did strain for quite a while this morning with no poo till this afternoon.:dohh:
She also has quite bad wind. Should I be seeing the Dr about this?
She is really well in herself though otherwise.
Anyone else experience this with comfort milk?

Hi

I am also using Aptamil Comfort milk as my baby Oliver had really bad colic and constipation. He now has varying levels of normal / hard or very watery poo, and loads of wind but I am going to keep him on it as he has stopped crying for endless hours! According to the Aptamil website, wind is very normal. Oliver strains a lot too, but as he is happy in himself and putting on weight i'm not worried at the moment.

Would suggest leaving it for a day or two, but if the diarrhoea continues best to get it checked.

Comfort formula does cause loose poo - that is one of the things it's intended for!

When we first switched to it, they were explosive, stinky, wet and green for about 2 weeks, then it just settled down and was fine.

I would also suggest giving it a bit longer before making any other changes - unless there are any other symptoms alongside.

My lo was on aptimal and the hv told me to switch to comfort, it made her worse. eventually my gp confirmed lactose problem and put her on SMA LF milk

I would see your gp

Well I phoned my GP for advise and the receptionist said one would ring back by end of afternoon (yesterday) did they? No!!! Bloody crap doctors!!!

Yesterday I switched one of her feeds to normal Aptimal and today I'm guna switch two of them and keep doing that till all of her feeds are back to normal milk.

She had another runny poo yesterday night nut it was more like I would expect to see it on this milk ( not like water like the other two!)

Will see how she goes, thx for all ur advise!

I've got a good mind to phone the dr today and thank them for their non response and concern!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!
