second hand presents for christmas?

I will if I find stuff I want. I also freecycle. I just sterilize everything as she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth lol.

I think it depends on the stuff! Most things I'd say go for! When it comes to kids especially, some older people are picky and don't like things unless they are brand new though!

You can find some amazing stuff that's used!!!!

I get stuff off ebay, he has a few cot toys and ordinary toys out of the charity shop. He also has clothes from there, they are in perfect condition. I don't see anything wrong with it, and I don't put people down for doing it, although I know a few people from our family that totally disagree with it, i don't give a sh!te x

i have the same problem with my brother who as a daughter 3 weeks younger than gertie he totally disagrees with me buying toys from ebay but i my answer to him is well gertie doesn't have a nanny to buy all her clothes and toys little your daughter ( his mothering law buys everything for them so they dont understand how expensive things are ).

i love ebay and charity shops thats where my mum used to get our clothes from when we were younger and i didn't mind.

i cant think of anything to search for on there lol!

I'm just interested in that some people have said they wouldn't buy certain things 2nd hand, just curious as to what you would not buy?

I love ebay and also the charity shops, kids get more and i save hundreds i'm a sucker for a bargain.

i guess they means things you cannot wash or sterilize ? everything i get i can put in the washer or use anti-bac wipes to clean plastic things

You can wipe everything down tho can't you? I do it to everything I buy 2nd hand, a lot comes up like new :happydance:

The way I see it, a lot of new stuff has been sat on a shelf in a shop anyway, so who knows where it's been.
Second hand is great. As if our LOs care!
Just give them a wipe with anti bac wipes as someone else has said.

Good for you! It is all the fisher price little people pink stuff I am after and cant find it anywhere in stock so I will be using Ebay to get it!
Hopefully i will get a bargain too!

All of Maleys are secondhand.....she doesnt know the difference anyway

ive got most of leylas clothes off freecycle or second hand off people on here, i dont see nothing wrong with it tbh, i got leyla a bundle of clothes when she was born and there was 2 toys in there, brand new they looked like, one is a box that u press the shapes through, and the other is a turtle and u press him in different places and he makes different noises, am giving her them for xmas along with other things i have picked up on the cheap in shops or on ebay

not all of us can be rich and afford everything new, like some have said my daughter would have hardly any presents or clothes otherwise lol

x

I think i have bought about 5 outfits new, all the rest of Kyla's clothes and toys have either been bought for her from other people, or from car boots/ebay and i will definatly be looking there for pressies :)

char, u look sooo much like one of my friends, i got shock for a minute there lol

x

Yep - nothing wrong with it in my eyes!

for 3 months, all toys - basically LO's activity gym, books, bouncer etc, with the exception of a few teddies were second hand, the first proper toy that i bought was his jumperoo in the sale!

i have NO problem in getting some antibacterial wipes, buying off ebay and there you have it, good as new!

I've bought some bits off ebay for josh for xmas & his birthday, i've bought a 2nd hand nintendo wii for his main xmas present off my brother as i just can't afford to spoil him. But trying my best as baby will be here just before xmas & i'd like to make this one a little more special for josh , So far 2nd hand i've bought :

nintendo wii + 3 games £90 from bro
2 ben 10 jigsaws £5.00 for both from ebay
BN ben 10 watch £5. ebay
Gameboy & 5 games from someone on here for his bday £20
2 gameboy games - ebay £6.00 for both
ben 10 pjs -£2.50 ebay

1 or 2 other bits from ebay cant remember what but all £5 ish, we have to live by our means & if that means we can buy our kiddies what they want then why not, So long as they look ok or in fairly good condition then who cares!
I love ebay for bargains !!!
