second hand presents for christmas?

I've got Faith's DS for xmas off there and some games as it's all just so expensive otherwise. You'd never really know it was second hand as the box is mint and the DS is in brilliant condition. That's all I've brought xmas wise so far but yeah I don't think there is anything wrong with it x

i got Matthew a vtech pop up ball thingi for £1.25 in the cancer research shop BARGAIN in great condition, i love a bargain :happydance: x

Ebay will be where mainly all amber stuff coming from.
I love ebay!

maybe im a tight ass i grudge paying full price for kids toys etc for all they use them and get fed up, LOVE ebay as the quality of stuff is great x

Im ALL for second hand and ebay...https://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs264.snc1/9116_133756216637_523391637_2941021_6745182_n.jpg

I would say 50% of the smaller stuff is second hand!! I couldn't afford that all new.

But that being said..I could only give secondhand if it looked new (hand the original box...sticker..) and only while he was little and didn't know any better. I guess I'm weird that way. I always got new presents..and I just can't imagine myself giving him second hand at Christmas past a certain age. So the solution....buy secondhand all through out the rest of the year!! hehehe.

^ I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee that mat!!!

I buy 2nds never really thought about it for Christmas but now I think about it more the bigger things ....yer why not if its not broken.

I think a bit back and I thought "I wouldn't" but then I would sell things and think well what Im selling is what I'd buy I know its in good/new condition I know I'm not selling something I wouldn't buy ......

What do they need a box for but that said they usually prefer the box :haha:

Wrap it up so they have the fun of opening it and no child in a million years would have an issue with new vs. secondhand. It's a great idea!

I havnt bought her anything 2nd hand for Xmas but she has got loads of charity shop things anyway - I'm not embarrassed to look through the 20p bin for clothes in my local charity shop - most of the stuff is hardly worn and just the same as what you'd pay a few quid on ebay for!!
I always find it odd that people will scoff charity shops yet will happily buy on ebay as if it was any different (?)

just adding in that me and hubby have always bought each other 2nd hand stuff for birthdays and xmas's in with new stuff. Alot of the things he likes you cant buy new anyway.

havent bought any xmas pressies off ebay (yet!) but have gotten lots of things at bargain prices as gifts at other times...

don't have an lo but...
last christmasi bought my oh a northface denali fleece on ebay...it was BRAND new - still in the wrapping and i got it for 110 shipped rather than the 185 i would have paid at a store.. i was thrilled!

eBay has amazing bargains :happydance:

I totally agree with everyone else!! I have sold stuff on car boots before and I would only ever put decent things on it, so I would assume most people are the same!! Especially clothes, my LO had so much stuff when he was newborn, half of it didn't get used! We kept the stuff we really liked in case this baby is a boy too and then gave the stuff that wasn't our taste but brand new to a local charity that give clothes to mums that cant afford much x

I will be buying Olivia a mixture of second hand and new for xmas. I have already bought her a wooden pull along telephone, mini wooden doll house with figures and a wooden toddle truck from a 2nd hand baby shop in our village. They look brand new and the telephone and the doll house are still in the original boxes.

I paid £18 for the lot and in elc the wooden toddle truck is £25 brand new.
