Hi everyone,

I have been ttc for 18 months, and I feel like my doctor is not doing enough and fobbing me off. I have irregular periods that range from 21 - 43 days. My doctor has sent me for 2 scans which they say everything is fine and I've had a blood test to check for polycystic ovaries and I do not have that. My husband has had fertility test and results were normal sperm count but low sperm motility of 39%.
After we got the results of the sperm test the doctor said nothing to worry about and to keep trying.

Do you think we should have been referred to the hospital by now or be having more tests??

I'm just a bit worried that naturally we are struggling to conceive and the doctor seems to not be helping us at all!

I would really appreciate some opinions or if anyone is in the same situation as us.

Thanks :)

Hi there sorry if this sounds cheeky but what age are you. XX

Its not cheeky at all :) I'm 25

They say at your age if you haven't conceived with in 12mths you should have tests done. Have you had a HSG done? (it is where they push dye through your tubes to make sure they are fully open) Have you had a 21day blood test to check that your ovulating. Do you chart your cycle? that is also a good help.

All they very best hun, hope you conceive soon

hi i would agree with bek74 that i would ask about a hycosy to check ur fallopian tubes...i had one 4 weeks ago & its a very quick procedure & u get the results there & then which was fab as i hate waiting for results!!! Also i would get your husband on some kind of vitamins to up the motility & the way they swim....my husbands count was 17 million and 60% motility and was told his sperm were very sluggish and not swimming in the right direction!!! he started to lose a bit of weight and started taking fertile aid 4 men and within 2/3 mths the count went up to 21 million and motility is now 70% with good swimmers that are moving they way they should be...my fertility specialist said that it was a huge improvement & to carry on with what ever pills he is taking.....i have just been prescribed clomid for the 1st time, hoping it works!! xx

Thanks for the replies. I have not had a HSG test or a 21 day test to check if I'm ovulating, I'm back at the doctors Friday so I will push to have these tests done.
I use a Clear Blue fertility monitor which only ever goves me high days and never peaks but I might start charting my temp as well each month as well.
I'll have a look at getting my husband some aid 4 men, he is taking zinc supplements at the moment so hopefully the motility will go up soon!

xx

I think maybe they are thinkin gyou have time on your side but push for more investigations. Good luck. XX

Hi hun!
