Did you find it easier having a newborn second time around? Don't get me wrong, I'm tired from waking up for night feeds and trying to get two out of the house...but generally, Lola has just slotted into our daily routine. I have to be more organised and pack bag in advance, make sure outfits for the day are ready etc but it doesn't seem as hard as it was first time? We were out of the house at the park with ds1 the day after Lola was born, people keep telling me I'm brave for getting out...so then I think, should I be at home and not out and about?! Can't win! Ha x

I find it near impossible with two as the new baby wants to eat constantly and is BF, but if it wasn't for that then yeah it's definitely easier second time around! More used to needing to be organised and the lack of sleep isn't as bad etc. I kind of wonder what I did first time around, but I had a bad first few weeks with DS1 and had PND and this time had a home birth and all was very relaxed which has definitely made a difference.

I was the same OP, I was out right away with our second, again she just slotted in! :)

I definitely find it a million times easier. Your first changes your life completely where as your second just slots in.

I have a 21 month old and a nearly 6 week old and in finding it fine. We do have good days and bad days though!
Nights can be difficult as my DS Is refluxy and has lactose intolerance so he doesn't sleep well. But even then im finding the sleep deprivation easier this time than I did with my first.

I went out for the first time the day after I got home (3 days old) and have been out every single day since. I personally need to get out the house. I get stressed being at home and being out of the house enterrains my toddler and makes it easier on me. She also has a regular nap which gives me time to clean the house or to relax if needs be.

My house is always clean and tidy, kids always clean and in clean clothes, fed etc and tea is always on the table for when my partner gets home- I honestly thought id find it impossible and got worked up when j was pregnant. But so far, so good! I imagine when DS starts crawling it may get a lot harder x

Also forgot to mention that he's breastfed and I do find that bit hard as he feeds little and often but I'm starting to baby wear a bit more to help with that!

So much easier!! Ds does whatever I'm doing with dd & we were out & about within days. I think it's much less of a culture shock, we're always up, I'm used to never sleeping past 7am & leaving the house prepared for all eventualities!!

I am finding baby number two U.S. Easier.

She is a quick feeder, breast fed and generally a happy baby. Our DS was on the breast all day and I could barely put him down he had terrible colic and reflux. Baby number two has a lot of acid but doesn't scream and when she gets colic I'm calmer so I deal with it better.

She had slotted in to our life and my only just three year old is much harder work,

My second was a really high maintenance baby, if he had been my first I might have had a nervous breakdown (!) but luckily I knew that the baby days don't last forever which made me more able to handle it. My third has been a dream baby and I have found it a totally different experience having her, with my other two being that bit older. She's almost six months old already and her baby days have flown by too fast :( I think when you have your first, your life changes forever in such a dramatic way, nothing on earth can prepare you for it, but once you are already a parent you've made that life shift so even if you have a baby who is more hard work, it doesn't impact you in quite the same way as your first.

I am finding having a baby thessecond time around way easier. I have an almost 3 year old and an 8 week old. It may surprise you but for me the kid that requires the most 'work' is my older boy! He is the one who gets into trouble, acts up, needs entertaining, etc. The baby just breastfeeds, sleeps and poops, relatively simple needs compared to an older toddler pushing boundaries. I do get stressed out still though when they both need something at once - I feep really guilty having to go to one first.

Yup I found #2 very easy. He was pretty good with naps and sleeping at night. My third on the other hand is quite difficult. She is hard to get to nap then stays down 40 min max, and up every 1.5-2 hr at night. She is very similar to DS1, and now I have two other kids to take care of too. I thought DS1 was a one-off but apparently not!

I found my second slotted right in too. We were at toddlers when she was a few days old, and I generally felt great.

Number three on the other hand...

I felt and feel the exact same way you described - Clem just slotted in to our lives. In that respect, things have been a lot easier than I anticipated...BUT, she is a much "needier" baby than her brother ever was - very spirited :haha: She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to tell me about it! So yes and no.

I think the huge gap between ours helps a lot. My son is very patient when the baby needs something and I can't help him right away.

Generally easier, yes except G is breastfed and fed every two hours or so until I started weaning her! She is still breastfed but I don't feed her anything like as much now she has three meals a day.

I've just welcomed twins into our family, on top of our other 2 children and I can say that it's not as difficult as I thought it was going to be.
even with 4 children im finding myself doing everything I would normally do ( just takes a lil longer)

I found second time easier although it was not until 8-9 weeks in that I actually started to relax a bit. We were in hospital for a week which strangely enough was quite positive because once we were home feeding was fully established etc. I did miss my toddler but I'm grateful I had that chance to bond with my newborn with no distractions. One week after giving birth on my first day at home we went shopping abs had lunch out. First time round that would have been absolutely inconceivable x

I found with baby number two, it was fine, maybe easier than with baby number one. But baby number three is harder, not particularly the baby, but just juggling three- three baths, three bedtimes, feeding three their meals at diff times of the day, getting three out for school drop offs and pickups etc etc. just really hectic now but when I had two I was running a smooth machine around here.
Sounds like you're doing great mama., so pat yourself on the back and eat some chocolate!:)
