Second tri starts from week ??????? confused

some say 12 some say 13 and some say 14.
im 13 weeks today and i figured i should start to post here

I stayed in first trimester until about 16 weeks as I still felt like I had more in common with the ladies there than second trimester, but here in Canada your considered second trimester at 12 weeks, I am considered third trimester tomorrow but will probably stick around second trimester a little while longer as third trimester seems like more labour watch stuff and that seems far off for me. so it all really seems to be comfort level, any time after 12 weeks can be considered second tri!

I think in US they consider end of 13 weeks as the beginning of second tri.

Medically speaking it depends on who you ask (12-14 is the range). If you are referring to BnB they list second tri as starting at 14 weeks. Since I've been on here people move to whatever trimester they like when they want so in that sense I agree with a pp it doesn't really matter. I still visit and post on all forums including ttc so dates of pregnancy really don't set boundries imo

Anyways, I considered myself out of first tri but not in 2nd between 12-14. Only now I can actually say I'm in 2nd tri and feel more comfortable posting here. Confusing how everywhere it's different!

i always thought 2nd tri started at 13 weeks, but since BnB says:

14 > 26 weeks

i always waited until 14 weeks to hop over - guess i'm a sheep.

Here is Australia its the beginning of 13weeks is the 2nd tri. I did the maths and divided 40weeks into 3. Turns out to be 13.3 or something. So mathematically somewhere between 13 and 14 weeks. Welcome though. I started posting at 13 weeks also. Cause first trimester posts just were not relevant anymore.

God no! I'd be stuck in there forever lol.

I'd count 14w as 2nd tri, but really once 12w scan is done 1st tri posts seem irrelevant, so I moved.

It doesn't really matter lol I usually consider myself "officially" second/third tri after the latest week passes. xx
