Hi all,

I've been suffering from a bad headache all day and now my vision seems a little blurry almost like im seeing stars... Is this normal? Anyone else have this?

Any input greatly appreciated :)

Sounds like it's a migraine, have you taken anything for the headache? If the pain doesn't ease soon and the stars are still there you should go get checked out by your GP.

it could be from migrane or your blood pressure may be higher/lower than it should be. call your doc to check! my first pregnancy i had this problem plus dizziness and it was from high blood pressure.

Deffo sounds like a migraine I get them but I am sick before one comes on just rest up and drink plenty of water

drink waters and sleep for little while, i had it before, this what i do, afterward i felt better x

Lots of water and get urself one of those sticks you rub on your forehead, they work wonders!

Sounds like my sort of migraine! Especially if lights hurting your eyes? Sleep and lots of water :) (avoid choccie and caffeine as iv realised it makes it a whole lot worse) obviously they say to look out for floaters and stuff in eye for high blood pressure so if it lasts I'd ring gp in the morning :) xxxx

Thanks everyone, I'm about to give in and have some paracetamol as the headache is agony now and its making ne feel sick! Luckily the stars have gone now...

I had migraines when I was younger and when I was pregnant last time. Affected my eye sight like that to. Seeing stars. I went as long as I could but ended up taking 2 pain killers and got into bed. Best to be in the dark and try sleep

Yes, definitely sounds like a migraine. The stars should disappear within 30 minutes or so, though. If not, call your doc just to make sure everything's OK.

Just a note for all of you migraine sufferers - I have had them for many years, and a baby aspirin a day has kept them away. I stopped when I was pregnant, and they came back like crazy. I talked to my doc and he said I could take one (and only one!) per day, and so far it has helped a lot. Might not work for everyone, but something to consider. TALK TO YOUR DOC FIRST!

I suffer from migraines but only during pregnancy I have what the drs call seizures where I cannot see. All down one side of my body goes numb cannot feel a thing I can't talk can't read literally it's so scary I don't even no who my LO or DH is it lasts a few hours then it's just the headache. The drs arnt worried it's normal hun hope your ok soon though xx

Hi hope your feeling a bit better, please speak to your midwife and think about making an appointment with your optician. I don't mean to worry you but there is a rare condition called IIH which although rare can appear during pregnancy and by having your eyes checked can stop you from going blind. It is highly unlikely this is the cause but it is better to be safe than sorry. I guess it is probably a migraine but due to my own experience with the condition and from reading others experiences i always advise people to get their eyes checked if they have headaches and blurred vision xx

Thanks all, I'm off to Dr tomorrow if my headache isnt better in the morning, my vision is better now... just put my glasses on lol. Fingers crossed I'm ok in the morning :)
