Hello all. I found these forums after a quick Google search and thought it might be a good resource. I am a 35 yr old male and my SO is a 36 year old female. We've been attempting to conceive for close to two years now with no success. We are both healthy overall. We eat well, exercise, etc. Last year I gave a sperm sample and discovered that my sperm count was a bit low and that the sperm motility was a bit off. My urologist prescribed me Clomid to help with that and I've also been taking a more "all natural" fertility blend. The most difficult part, however, is figuring out her ovulation. Her cycles are not regular at all and to be quite honest, the ovulation test kits are a bit annoying. Recently her ovulation tests were showing as positive for nine straight days. So, I'm a bit skeptical about the accuracy of those tests. Now we're getting to the point where we're stressed about not conceiving. The doctors have been somewhat helpful but not to a great extent. I know that we can see a fertility specialist but those aren't covered by insurance and we don't have a lot of extra money.

I guess I'm hoping maybe someone here has been in a similar situation or maybe might have some helpful advice. At this point I'm willing to try just about anything.

Wow 9 days that is strange! Has she seen anyone regarding her irregular ovulation? A regular OBGYN can give her a FSH test to determine her fertility levels. She might just need Clomid too. You have been trying for two years so she should be able to get preliminary tests done.

I would say to have her see her ob/gyn to get tested for pcos. They can also do an estradiol/fsh/lh test and then an ultrasound to see if she is ovulating. She could try taking her temperature and charting it at Fertility Friend. All that requires is a BASAL BODY THERMOMETER and waking at the SAME TIME every day to take her temp. That will give you guys much needed information. At her age, after 6 months of trying, most doctors will do simple blood tests to see if things are working as they should. Hope this helps and please, keep us posted and most importantly GOOD LUCK!!
