Semen Analysis - OMG

I went to a follow up appointment today with my Reproductive NP. She gave me the results of my DH's semen analysis. She scared me at first because she said "It's not so bad". My husband's sperm count was 416 million sperm in his sample She asked how long it was between his donation and his last ejaculation. I told her it was only 3 days.

So OMG!!! She said his overall motility is around 43%, with about 14% being good quality sperm. She then again pointed out that while the percentages are low, they really aren't considering how many sperm he had.

When I called him and told him, DH couldn't stop singing that he has Super Sperm. Then about 30 minutes later he began to worry if the count was too high...or if they simply got it wrong.

Thoughts??? Anyone have experience with semen analysis that can offer some insight?

I don't know much about that...we did an at home test that pretty much just said his count was normal but didn't give numbers...I'd like to have an analysis done though.

The NP told me that they consider above 40 million to be normal. I think that's why she questioned when he last ejaculated. This is a large university/medical center that specializes in research and teaching, so I'm thinking they would have double checked the results to be sure before telling us.

It at least put his mind at ease. I knew that my body is the problem, but now we know for sure.
