Me and my fiance REALLY dont have the same taste in names!!!! He hat es the names i suggest and i hate the names he suggests! I like names that are unique and he likes traditional lol we struggled to find a name for our daughter we named her Avaleigh but that was about the only name we actually agreed on and i think the only reason he liked it is because she gets called Ava lol anyway im looking for girls names again as i really think im having a little girl, we find out in 3 and half weeks, and every name i suggest he shoots down, i love names like Luna, Pixie, Savannah, Indiya, and he hates all of those :( and the only name he has suggested to me is Georgina and i realllllly dont like that name ( i think he likes it because its the female version of the traditional name george! And thats the reason i dont like it lol)

So anyway can anyone please think of some really pretty girly girl names that are a bit different please? Im hoping i can find one he will actually like lol

I just wanted to say I know your pain!!! We have always struggled with girl names, and how ironic that we are on to our 3rd daughter! Our first didn't have a name till she was 2 days old, thankfully we have a name we just decided on last week.
Our DDS are: Gloria Madeline, Emsley Meadow, and this will probably be Maisie Rowan...I'm happy b/c their first initials will spell GEM...my gems! And that wasn't even planned!

My sister named her daughter Liana which I thought was very pretty and different without being too strange for the traditional name lover :) could always do a more fun spelling... it's the name of a pretty vine. My other niece's name is Kiara

We are trying to conceive our second and every name I suggested to my OH he said no to right away. But he didn't offer much info as to what he liked. He told me a couple names he liked and from then I gathered that he liked more frilly feminine names. (I like those but I just couldn't find one I liked to name my own child). Anyway, I finally told him that he CAN NOT just automatically say no to my suggestions because I'm picky and they are serious suggestions that took me a long time to find, after that, he is more patient and thoughtful with my suggestions. I found a name that is both feminine and spunky, it sounds long but it's not. I found a winner. It was a process! But I guarantee we will have another boy!
I love the name Luna, that was on my list. I like India (spelled this way) with the nn Indi. Maybe find a frilly name with a sweet spunky nn? A more traditional maybe, with Goergina nn GiGi/Gina
Vivienne nn Viv
Anastasia nn Sia
Camilla nn Cami/millie/milla (love this one)
Wilhelmina nn Willa/mina
Gwendolyn nn dolly/lyn
Francine nn Frankie
Delilah nn Lilah
Miranda (no nickname just love this name)
Penelope nn Penny/Poppy
Cordelia nn Cora
Mongolia nn Nola

Idk if you like anything there but it may give u ideas

Cecelia
Gwen
Elodie
Clara
Madeline
Evelyn (might be too close to Avaleigh though!)
Helena
Genevieve

Maybe look at old baby girl name tables, that way he gets to choose something traditional but it's not popular enough to put you off.
How about;
Rosalie
Lucille
Nelle
Iris
Ada
Sylvie

I love all your name choices: Ava/Avaleigh, Luna, Pixie, Savannah!!

Some suggestions that maybe your OH will like:

Penelope (Penny)
Calliope (Calli)
Eden
Rosalie (Rosie)
Lilliana (Lily)
Vivienne (Vivi)
Cecelia (Cece)
Julia (Jules)
Ruby
Violet
Eliana (Ella/Ellie)
Brooklyn (Brooke)
Elora
Serephina

Thanks for the names so far ladies, there are some really nice ones in there! I love the name Lilliana i had it for a name for Avaleigh but then my OH's mum got a dog and called it Lilly so i couldn't have it any more :( my OH seems to be coming round to Pixie so im keeping my fingers firmly crossed that he decides to like it lol, another name we both like is Meadow, but i prefer pixie lol

I think River is a lovely name and quite unusual, I also really like Willow. Not so common but more 'normal' names could be Erin or Esme maybe x

I feel your pain. My DH likes to make fun of some of my choices. Others he will say no to, others he says he likes but then Nothing... And then when I tell him to write out some names he likes he says "well I am thinking!" or "we have all the time in the world" I dont know why he can't just sit down with me once and decided on a boy name and a girl name... I mean, come on, it is hardly a chore! But he's not bothered... I think its all just a shit excuse to once again get out from taking some sort of responsibility.

Anywho. I hope you guys can work it out. Just don't name her "Peaches". :)

Maybe once you find out what you're actually having it'll be easier for him to imagine the names on your child? That's what happened with my DH. We are having Freya, but DH hated it at first, but that was before we found out we were having a girl.

I suggest Eloise, different yet heard of and not overly popular - and he could always call her Ellie/Ella x

It seems like your styles are on the opposite side of the spectrum.

I would suggest one of two approaches:
1) You select slightly more traditional names out of your pool of unique ones to share with him.
2) Look for traditional/old-fashioned names that are unique and "out there" to appease the both of you.

Here are some names that I think are unique AND traditional. HTH!

Sheila
Mavis
Verity
Symphony
Celeste
Lyra
Novella
Tera
Mika
Ruby
Aurelia

I think Meadow is pretty. Pixie is cute but I'm really worried it won't age well. Could you imagine a CEO named Pixie?
I think Pixie totally works as a nickname for a child - doesn't even have to be related to her official name. Just consider something more formal for the birth certificate.

Haha we have the same problem! And you and I have similar tastes in names too.
I love the name Pixie but DH said that they will grow up to be a weirdo. Sad. And whenever I mention Luna, he always says "tic" straight afterwards.
We have been contemplating Dottie or Lola.

Honestly, if I could, I would name her Bambi. Haha but I know that it's too silly. But seriously I love the name so much!
I don't know baby's gender but i am leaning towards girl.
Stalking for ideas. Good luck!

Ooooh bambi is a lovely name but yes couldnt name a baby it people would laugh :( i think Pixie is such a pretty name and i always see it ages well because i think of Pixie Lott, but so far we are leaning towards meadow purely because we both like it lol, we find out in 2 weeks 3 days what baby is and then i can reallllly start name searching lol

DH finally decided to cooperate (after a discussion broke out of FB) and we have decided on a boy and girl name! Finally.
