Hi there,

It's been a while since I posted on here, and what a journey ... and a new one begins ...!

I have finally had a lap (yesterday) to remove a 5.5cm cyst. After the lap the consultant informed me that he had removed the cyst, but there was still a lot of endo in the left ovary. He also said that my right ovary and tube were stuck to my pelvis due to endo adhesions, so overall outcome is I have severe endo! :dohh: I have been trying to get the GP and fertility consultant to understand this, but only now will they listen, well they will when they get a letter from the consultant who did my op!

Anyway, Ive been given an implant of Zoladex, and told its to relieve the effects of endo. But I am concerned as having googled it (damn u google!), it seems it has lots of side effects, and implications with regards to my IVF (yet to be scheduled as I have to reduce my BMI). None of this was explained. So at best with 6 months of Zoladex, then however long before I can start IVF, it could be months before I can start TTC again. I wasnt even told that the Zoladex would be a prob with me continuing to TTC naturally before IVF.

Sorry for the blah above, but Im confused, and wondered if anyone else has endo, been given Zoladex and what they know about it, and their outcome.

Thanks in advance :flower:

LM x

Hugs to you. I haven't gotten meds or diagnosis but I'm concerned like you. Best wishes

Sorry to hear you are still waiting for a diag/meds. Hope you get answers soon.

It's amazing how much pressure you have to put on the GPs/consultants to actually check things out, esp when you know something is wrong, and they wont listen or act!

:hugs:

Yes my gp and gyn were not at all interested yet the fertility clinic is so much more proactive.

I was diagnosed with endo through a lap, my left ovary was stuck to the side of my womb!! I dont know how bad it was overall they never went into details with me about it, but i think its quite bad. They just put me back on clomid and i concieved my daughter 7 months later and had been trying about 6 and a half years before that! Good luck x

Ah sorry to hear about this, I also have Endo but i am not on Zoladex. I had a lap in November and the doctor removed all of the lesions.

I hope everything turns out well for you! I will be interested to hear your progress.

hi, sorry to hear of your diagnosis :( i was diagnosed with severe endo back in 2009 during a lap&dye after 2 years of ttc, they extended to laparotomy to remove a 6cm endometrioma (the ovary was stuck), and i had endo on my other ovary too (which they lasered off). i also had endo involving my rectovaginal septum and right uterosacral ligament which they were unable to remove - i only found this out a few months ago, i was under the impression that they had removed everything !

i was referred immediately for ivf (also had male factor) but they tried me on letrozole whilst i waited for ivf - i got pregnant on my second cycle post surgery :happydance:

they never tried me on zolodex or any kind of birth control although i wish they had of done after i gave birth as i am now struggling to conceive again second time round (15 and a half months so far)

Hi there
Sorry about your diagnosis. I think I read that someone inhere was put on Zoladex and got pg. I think you can find it if you do a search.
Best wishes,
Amber (ttc 5 years w. minimal endo)

I was officially diagnosed with endo in 2010 ( i knew i had it because i knew i had an endometrioma but otherwise i had no symptoms at all! I had everyghing lasered off - most of mine was on the bladder and back of uterus and pouch of Douglas and it was very deep. 3months after the laparoscopy the cyst returned...
I had 2 failed ivf cycles, thenwent on zoladex and started another. I had my worst response after zoladex and stimmed on a maximum dose. The egg quality and numbers were the worst i've had and i only had one average quality embryo ( i've had 11 top grade ones in the past!)! The good thing is that mg endometrioma shrank on zolly which can only be a good thing! On the other hand, there are lots of ladies that have been lucky on their "after zolly" cycle!

Best of luck with your weightloss and treatment! X

I have suspected endo, but am yet to have the laparoscopy. I had the pelvic scan and it showed my right ovary was stuck to my uterus, so I'm guessing that I do have it.

I saw a private consultant and he said he could perform the lap in the next couple of weeks, but I can't help but worry how long it will put me out of TTC. I keep reading that 30-40% of couple have fertility issues due to endo and if I keep trying perhaps I will get pregnant. We have only been TTC for 7 months - anyone got any thoughts whether I should just get it over with? Or keep going to a year at least?

Hi LittleMermaid, I came across your post while searching for Zoladex. I have severe endo too (endometriomas on both ovaries, ovaries stuck to tubes, adhesions, 1 blocked tube...) and was put on Zoladex 10.8mg last June 2011. I'm now anxiously waiting for AF to return so we can TTC again. Just wanted to say hi and good luck! Are you on the monthly Zoladex or the 3-monthly one?

Other ladies - good luck and baby dust to all of you!
