While I was PG my husband bought me the best gift EVER!! A sewing machine  I've always wanted one so when I got my payout I was allowed to get one :happydance:

I have got to grips with it (finally lol) set myself up with a little space in the dining room, and messed about with tote bags and cushion covers.....so now to make something useful lol :D

Does anyone have any patterns (either links online or that I can buy) for any of the following?:

- boys/unisex baby clothes
- nappy wraps
- Changing bags/mats/towels
- Room dressings ie; Bumpers, cot tidy etc
- Adult clothing (Mens and womens)
- Anything really good that you think I've forgotten lol

I'm a bit of a novice but I'm keen to learn. Also, if anyone can recommend any good books or websites it would be much appreciated :flower:

Thanks

I use
still learning life website for mt patterns,
how to make a morsbag is good for groovy bags,
Little Birdie Secrets for baby legs and there are a few other things on there,
Darling Diapers have downloadable nappy patterns.
Celtic cloths have free downloadable nappy patterns,

When i find my others i use i will let you know x

For baby carriers I've done:
https://thosemartins.com/bmt/
I like this one because it's like a cross between a meitai and a wrap so it seems to distribute the weight really well.

It's the instructions to make your own maya ring sling. They are pretty expensive to buy here so I made my own with their instructions.
For cloth diapering:
https://www.make-baby-stuff.com/wool-diaper-cover.html
It's a super easy pattern for making wool longies out of old sweaters.

https://www.diapersewing.com/ (this site has a pattern for a motherease air flow wrap, which is my favourite wrap I've bought- I haven't tried the pattern yet, but will once Emma has to move up to the large size)
Lots of nappy patterns on both those sites.

Have fun with the sewing machine!

I have a few online (let me see if I can find them) but I just went down and bought a pattern for some onesies/rompers/shirts/jackets. You get quite a lot in the baby patterns. I'm still deciding what to make first (and if I really need snap tape or if sewing snaps on will do :p)

aww... perfect!!!!
Thanks for the links ;-) my husband is a tailor, i will show him them, so.... hope he will make a lot ;-)

I've just started making Leyla clothes and found this really simple pair of trousers - https://www.make-baby-stuff.com/baby-pants-baby-pattern.html. If you make them out of fleece, you don't even need to hem the trousers if you don't want (or you could hem them and then let them down when your LO grows so they last longer).

I'm not one for following complicated patterns and I found a fantastic book a few years ago. It's called 'Yeah I Made It Myself' by Eithne Farry (or something like that)... they sell it in most Waterstone's and it's well worth a look if you want to have a go at making yourself some clothes without anything complicated.
