Bless her lil socks,my daughter cries reallly hystericaly whenever she sees/hears another child crying,i'm not sure why she does it ??

I am abit (ok quite) concerned because i have another bubs due in feb and of course newborns cry alot, does anyone have any idea what i can do to help her,she gets so so distressed

xx xx

zane does this, and in supermarkets if another child is having a breakdown and screaming zane will join in:dohh:
but i just try and distract him and that tends to work, but he does it less now then he used to so she might grow out of it

It's an age thing hun. It starts at around 9-10 mnths. Omar cries if he sees me crying & if he watches his videos when he was tiny & crying. It's developemental issue. xx

Gabriel does it. I cant watch A Baby Story anymore. lol.

It's normal and healthy :) She will grow out of it in time :)

actually I just saw the same in daycare with babies 2-5 months. One started crying, and the other three joined in within three minutes. Only my daughter looked at them like they were crazy and kept eating :)

My son still does this! Its amusing but annoying at the same time :0)

they are figuring out empathy its ok and this too will pass :D

Yes I noticed when my son was younger he did this also ... used to feel so bad for him : ( nearly made me cry too : O Lol

I just used to talk soothingly to him...explained the baby/child crying was okay etc ...thinkthe soothing tone I used worked first then as he got older and understood what I was saying he realised that the other child was ok.... I think its natural....an innocent childs response to seeing someone in pain or upset.....I remember I cried after an argument (over nothing) with my OH and that set him off big time....made me really realise how much impact your own emotions have on them.... felt very guilty when I realised!

Now though - hes coming 4, and he covers his ears if he hears a child crying and says he doesnt like that noise Lol although he still gets concerned about them : ) nice to know he has normal feelings!! I wonder also how he will feel when baby no2 makes a noisy appearance :haha:
