and the bitch of a doctor at the hospital wouldn't do anything about it!!! Even though Jasmine is only eating like 2-3oz every 4 hours, she said, oh well she isnt dehydrated.... So what, am I supposed to wait until she is losing weight and dehydrated for them to help her?

She is obviously in pain... Im so upset, I dont want to have to listen to her cry because she is in pain from eating! It is so sad, and she has slept about a total of 6 hours since yesterday morning...

WTF am I supposed to do???

I already know about elevating the head to eat etc etc...

You can go to Shoppers or something and ask the pharmacists about it. I think you can get baby gaviscon over the counter.

Really? I thought it had to be prescribed?? Well it is too late now, maybe I will look tomorow... She did say I can thicken it with rice cereal... which I did before, so maybe I will have to do it again... At least before bed.

She has her shots on Mon so im going to ask him about it again.

Hmm maybe it does. I didn't think so though. They may have something else though that would help.

I know you're not in the UK, but here you can buy Infant Gaviscon over the counter.

I'm sure you've read all the threads and tips on Reflux, so I won't throw them all at you again.... I just wanted to say I hope you get some relief for her (and you!) soon.

And we're always here if ever you need a moan!

Reflux sucks!!

aw hun i really feel for you :hugs::hugs: jack has reflux too and is on the gaviscon. you can get over the counter in ireland too. i hope you can over there. its like magic. i remember the first time i gave it to jack it was a friday evening and the docs was closed so i just went and got it in the pharmacy. it didn't seem to make any difference in the first bottle but then the second one was just "oh my God!!!" the difference was unreal. i really hope you can get some hun. poor little jasmine. i hope you can get some hun :hugs::hugs:

Thanks guys, I am going to take a trip out today and see if I can get it...

:hugs:
Poor little thing...I don't know what to suggest besides Gaviscon? Hopefully it will make her feel little better.

Aww hun I hope she feels better soon , My son has reflux too and was prescribed zantac and so far after 1 month he seems to be doing allot better , If you cannot get the gaviscon over the counter then seek another doctor , dont step down until you get something for her :)

went to 2 pharmacys, no such thing as gaviscon for babies, but one pharmasist told me a couple cc's of adult gaviscon wont hurt until her appt tomorow... the he said she should have the prescription because if not it will keep damaging her throat.

Try feeding her just 1-2 oz every two hours during the day, that will help.
Keep her upright afterwards
Burp her often during feeding.

hi

my little one has reflux and we are on medication and awaiting to go to hospital to see if there is anything else they can do. dont let the doc bully you keep going back and ask for a referal to see a specialist.

i was out and about today and was in 'boots' (do you have that shop??) well anyways its like a pharmacy superstore and i found that SMA do a special milk for reflux babies called staydown. also i saw that cow and gate do it and aptimal. so we are going to try this. it is made of different nutrients that makes the food thicker in the stomach and easier to digest for them.

here is the link to the website so you can read about it.

The only pain is i cant get hold of this in the supermarket so gonna have to be super organised in buying her feeds. hope this helps, it is awful and some nights Hermione cries and cries and can be so sick, but its the acid that just sits in her throat and irritates and wakes her up that upsets me, also she can be so sick at night that i have to change her bed in the middle of the night and there is a pool of milk underneath, its awful. so if you need to vent i am here...

arrr that seems mean from the doc :(
i stopped using gaviscon cos it didnt seem to do anything other than make courtney constipated... courtney has grown out of it... shes still very sicky but it doesn hurt her so much now!!
I hope things get better for you xxx
