Hi ladies,
My lo start rolling over about a week ago (yes the last 2 weeks not sleeping as well regression/spurt has been going on!) and ever since she started to want to sleep on her side (before she would never sleep anyway other than on her back) she rolls and rolls but I can see what shes tryng to do she wants to sleep on her side, so she will cry until she is in this position when I put her down.. I put something behind her so she stays on her side in that position because she doesnt have enough control yet to stay in that position on her own, really im asking has anyone else had this and i hate having 'things' in the cot...will it be ok?:dohh: but she wont sleep otherwise! xx

If she can roll then there is no problem with her sleeping on her side. Different people like diferent sleeping postions and so do babies.

as above really if she's rolling over it should be fine for her to sleep in whatever position she wants

im sure she will be alright hun. My Lo sleeps on his tummy and has a blanket he snuggles into i sometimes wonder how he can breathe with it right in his face! But he wakes up if i take it away! X

Thanks, I know its ok for her to sleep in whatever position she likes, its more the fact she needs something behind her to keep her in that position and as its on her side and I was worried about having anything else in the cot because of SIDS ect..

Thanks Bathbabe that makes me feel better! xxx

My LO has been sleeping on her side since she was 1 week old. She would scream when we put her on her back so rolled up a pram blanket and put it at the side of the cot. Ive never had any problems :)

She will be fine.

Anna rolled onto her side to sleep from when she was 5 days old and I was worried - midwife said as long as she is rolling herself then its fine! Anna now sleeps on her tummy. I just leave her to it - wouldnt want to put anything in the cot either :flower:

Thanks mel and bump just needed reassurance it was ok! xxx

My lo has been sleeping on his side from day one. He will stay in that position and needs no support. Only recently he has started sleeping on his front but he is very comfortable on his side or back. I think babies just differ. Best to go with what she wants.
