I know that this has been discussed before, but I use my phone and I cant search on here.

After charting for a year, I have figured out that my LP is almost always 10. Once 13, twice 11, the rest 8-10, with most running 10.

I have been TTC almost 23 months, with a diagnosis of "unexplained infertility." My OBGYN, who specializes in Infertility, has had me on Clomid, but I ovulate on my own. The Clomid is to make me superovulate. This cycle is my 6th and final cycle on Clomid, then switching to Letrozole/Femara.

Im wondering about taking VitaminB6. I have heard that it can make your LP longer? Anyone have expirience? Did it work to make yours longer? How much should I take? I want to take a small dose at first, so maybe 50mgs. How long do you take it? Do you start at the beginning of your cycle and stop at ovulation? Or do you take it your whole cycle? Do you stop it if you get a BFP? Im so confused! Any insight would be wonderful! Thanks!

I am taking it. I tried 50mg for a couple of cycle and my lp stayed at 10. Then I tred 100mgthrough whole cycle and I delayed ov! So the last two cycles I tried 50mgup to ov, then 100mgin luteal phase. Last two cycles lp was 11 days then 14 days! I really can't say if it was the b6 though, as I am also having acupuncture and Chinese herbs.....but I a, planning to continue all of that as the combination seems to have worked for me.

I'd say you have nothing to lose by trying it.

Hi ces,

I and a few other ladies on here have taken B6 for short LP. My one has been as short as 8 days some months. The B6 helped me extend it by a day. With an LP of 10 days, yes it's short, but maybe not so bad because I have read of ladies who have conceived absolutely fine with this LP.
However, it might be a good idea to mention it to your Fertility Specialist. Different specialists have different views on this and it's like banging your head against the brick wall..

Good luck

Thanks. Ive talked to my dr, but he doesnt seem concerned with it. I have to see him againe if I dont conceive this cycle, so maybe Ill just take the 50mgs this cycle and see what happens. Thanks for all your help!

Ces, I think a LP that is 5 or 6 days long may be more of an issue. Also, have you had your progesterone checked?

Xx

I had an LP of 10 days and I took Angus castus for a couple of months. This did not change my cycles length but did bring ovulation forward a couple of days from cd 16/17 to cd14/15, putting my LP to 12 days. Stopped taking it about 18 months ago and still have 12 day LP.
