I had a scan last Friday with the nhs due to spotting and saw a heartbeat. I had awful morning sickness, fatigue and just generally unwell and miserable and now the last few days I have felt fine. I am completely stressing out about a missed miscarriage.

Do you think I'm being a worry wart getting another scan or is it justified? I had so many early scans with my last pregnant as I was worried constantly x

Once u see the hb, just relax. I know thats easier said than done.

With DS, I got an early scan at 6w, saw the hb, but 2 days later, I began bleeding so I rushed to the ER who cannot see my baby (cause of archaic u/s equipment, used mainly for traumatic injuries). The following day, I got another specialist scan and saw my baby, who is now almost 1years old.

In my opinion you should do anything you want to put your mind at ease. If I had the money I would have one every week if I had the money! Lol! I had a private scan on Saturday and even though I saw the heartbeat (7w 2d - 154bpm) and the ultrasound tech said everything looked great i still have that worry and doubt. (He put me a week behind).

So if you want a private scan then go for it! X

Are you still spotting? They should do another scan if you are. Even if not, I would do it if I was worried. Considering one myself next week!

I'm having a private reassurance scan this weekend. Booked it because I had a mc in October then fell pregnant straight away. Having to pay privately because my mw wouldn't refer me for a scan until I'm 12 weeks. Even when I was miscarry ing it was very hard to get a scan out of them so for me going private is worth every penny.

If you feel you want a private scan, I would go for it. BUt, if it helps when I had my mmc my symptoms continued so I had no idea I had lost the baby. Even if you have a mmc, the hcg hormone stays in your system for a long time, (took 6 weeks before I was back to 5), so your symptoms would not just suddenly disappear. It could be just that you are lucky and your symptoms are leaving you earlier! :) That's a great thing! So try to see the positive, but book a scan if it will help!

You deserve peace of mind! If you think going to a private scan will bring it to you, go for it! I went to one when I was 10 weeks, and I may go to another one this week. If you're able to go and pay for the service, I don't see the harm. :)

Thanks everyone for the replies!
No I'm nt spotting any more was only spotting week 4-5 I'm now over 8 weeks booked an eay scan for 6th January earliest they could get me in so I'll be over ten weeks then. At least I not have a few weeks to wait :)

I had a million with my daughter and don't regret any of them so I guess it's always worth peace of mind xx
