So we bought a sofa which needed collection. We booked a man with a van, we'd used the company before and he was fine but since using him he's hired a young man and he's the one who collected the sofa for us. This was on Monday. When he was unloading it a sofa cushion got left behind and when we put the sofa together and realised DH text him. The next day he replied and said sorry, I'll drop it round this afternoon. I waited in (which wasn't fun as DS gets so fussy if he doesn't go out), he didn't show. Dh text him and no reply. In the evening DH called him, he said sorry I'm still working I'll be there tonight. Didn't show. Then he said he'd come at 1pm on Wednesday. So I waited in (missing DS's group) nd he didn't show. Didn't reply to texts/calls so I had to wait in case he was on his way, which again was an annoying inconvenience. DH called the boss at 6 and was told that the guys van had broken down. Which we don't buy, and even if that was the case then why not text and tell us?
Anyway he said he'd bring it today in the day, before 4. Surprise surprise its past 4 and he hasn't shown. Now this is really really annoying me and I want to complain but I don't really know what to say to make the guy/the boss actually listen and give us the bloody cushion!!
I also don't know if I'm being hormonal and overreacting? Its not essential that we get it right now, we can still use the sofa as it's a big corner one so we just don't sit on the part with the back missing, but I feel like that's not the point. if he said he couldn't deliver it until next week we'd say fine, but to make me stay in, mess up my day, is very irritating! He is local, it would only take him 15 minutes max to get it to us.
So (and sorry its so long )
1) Am I over reacting or should I complain and make a bit of a fuss?
2) What can I say to make them just give us the bloody cushion?! I'm thinking like, threaten to report him to someone if he doesn't return our property, but I don't know who I'd report them to?

Thanks for reading!

Ohh dear I don't think you're over reacting at all I'd be pretty peeved too. They should return it..And they shouldn't be messing you around. I'm sorry I can't help with who you could report them to I've no idea who you report people like that to, maybe trading standards? Hope they return it soon!x

Definitely doesn't sound like overreacting to me, I would phone the boss and remember to tell how unimpressed you are and how you certainly wouldn't reccomend them to anyone else. Good luck.

Thanks guys. Glad to know I'm not being a total pissy pants :haha:. Going to demand that DH gives me their numbers (he's refused so far because he's scared I'll get mad and have a heart attack :dohh:)

Hmm makes me wonder if they've lost the cushion. Why else wouldn't they just drop it in as they are so close. Sorry probably not what you want to hear!

Hope it turns up soon!

xxx

Id be really pissed off too! complain and demand to pick the damn cushion up yourself as they have messed you about so much!

Id be suspicious...sounds like theyve lost it...but I always think the worst of people :haha:

I was thinking that he must have lost it too. I ended up getting the number and phoning with the totally implausible threat of going to the police and reporting them for withholding our property :haha:. This was at 7.20pm, he came and delivered it at 7.50pm! Yeehaw!

Wooo! Wonder why it took them so long in the first place if it was such a quick job to do?! I think they secretly lost it, had to order another from China, wait for the delivery and then get it to you   Just kidding of course! Glad you got it back :D

I have no idea, it was literally a 15 minute job! What a silly billy :)

Glad you got it back. I hate being messed about like this :flower:

Glad you got it back!

Its not even the fact about the cushion, its more to do with you waiting/changing plans that would annoy me!
