I know periods can be all over the place after having a baby, especially as I still breastfeed. Bub is almost 10 months, mixed feeding and solids 2 or 3 times a day. My periods have been back for the last 4 almost 5 months. However, my cycle is only lasting 17 to 21 days. And my periods, though lighter than before bub, are lasting 8 to 10 days long! I dont even get two weeks period free before the next one starts. Is it normal for them to last so long, or should I talk to the doctor?

I wouldn't worry yet. My first few cycles were terrible (got first period at 8.5 months pp) and they were either really light or really heavy, early OR late from month to month, plus I had one that lasted almost a full month on and off! But the past 2 or 3 have been totally normal.

If it doesn't get better after you hit the 6 month mark then by all means get checked out, but I think it's pretty typical for things to be all over the place for a while. Your doctor will probably advise you to go on birth control to settle things down - other than that, I don't think there is much else they can do.
