Hi :flower:
My LO is 22 months and for the past few months she has became extremely shy, to the point where when we are around others she will come and sit on my knee and snuggle right into me and won't lift her head up to even look at them. And if I try and lift her head up she starts to cry. It happens with everyone, she adores my sisters but if its been more than around 3 days since she last saw them she goes back to being shy with them. Depending on who it is, say mil or my sisters, she will usually come around eventually, I'd say about half an hour to an hour later, after they've spoken to her etc and will be fine with them. But if its someone she doesn't know she will not look up and if they try and talk to her or anything she will cry.

I'm worried that this isn't normal? Hope someone can give me some sort of advice :flower:

Totally normal! Shyness peaked around that age for both of my children. It can last months, but they do grow out of it eventually. My son is now very outgoing and my daughter isn't as bad as she was. Just reassure her and don't pressurise her into anything if she's not ready. :)

Totally and completely normal! My LO is about the same age and is completely the same!

I agree it's completely normal. Both of my LOs are really shy and quite clingy, hiding behind me all the time and cuddling into me when people are near. It's just a phase they go through I think :)

Thankyou for the replies, I'm so glad to hear it is normal! X
