Wondered If anyone has any advice?

I've been signed off work for the last 3 weeks as I have HG, I am sick on average 8-10times a day, and have little/no energy as I'm not eating anything.

My supervisor at work is putting pressure on me saying we need you to come back to work, it's only sickness, you're not ill you're pregnant, you just have to get a grip and get on with it etc etc (ironically I work in social care!!)

Do I have any rights? What can I do?

I would give anything to go back to work and not be sick

I emailed her a link to information on HG so she could read about it and know its not just regular MS but she doesn't seem to believe me, she says the doctors note only says vomiting.

I'm so upset it's making me feel worse

HI - do you have a HR department or a more senior manager you could go to? I would advise you approach them and explain that you really want to come back to work, but that your symptoms don't allow for it at the moment. Explain that you feel your supervisor doesn't understand how bad your symptoms are and that you're feeling pressured by her to go back to work. Highlight how impractical it would be to have someone at work who is vomiting as often as you are and that it means you physically cannot do your job.

Legally, they cannot penalise you for pregnancy related sickness - so if they have a warning system for sickness, they cannot issue you with any warnings for preg-related absence. The main thing is your doctor's signed you off work, so no matter what the note says, it means you are not fit to work. It's not your supervisor's place to say that the reason on the note is not sufficient enough for you to be off.

Thank you :)

I called her HR department on her behalf and they were a bit useless but she did manage to talk it through with her supervisor yesterday as she managed to feel well bough to go in for a half day.
