Last month I had terrible left side pain, ended up in L and D and they chalked it up to tearing some ligaments. Fine whatever. Fast forward a month ahead to today, I have TERRIBLE right rib cage pain and a headache that has been accompanied by some dizziness. I went to urgent care because I didn't want to waste L & Ds time, well I guess urgent care wouldn't see me because I'm too pregnant (wtf) and had me call L&D. Well I called and they basically said I'm 23 weeks and it doesn't matter and to call my on call doctors office. I did and after an hr they called and said we don't really know but I guess go to the er if you feel like it. They don't want me in maternity because I'm 23 weeks. Seriously? So sick of feeling like I'm a hypochondriac when I'm in so much pain. I guess I will wait it out and try to get ahold of my OB tomorrow. This pregnancy has been so rough with bleeding up until 15 weeks and pain.. Just wanna cry.

So sorry they're giving you the runaround. :( that's horrible.

I can't remember what week, but last time I was pregnant, around 5 month into the pregnancy, I had a major panic attack and was admitted into triage. After a certain week, ER doesn't take pregnant women, which in my area is just as well because it's less wait time in triage.

Find out what week your hospitals policy says you must be admitted in L&D, then they can't waste your time.

As for the rib cage pain, I had bad pain in the lower left rib last time and my OB wasn't concerned because it was too early for the baby to kick up that high. Eventually it went numb until after the birth. My son is 3. To this day, I didn't get 100% of feelings back to the skin in that area. This time, I can feel the pain starting in the right ribcage. At least its nothing serious. I hope your problem is similar in that its nothing to be too concerned about.

And unfortunately dizziness and headaches are par for the course for pregnancy. They usually just tell you to drink more water and lay back and put your feet up (even if you faint, that's all they'll tell you to do).

In my first pregnancy I got really bad rib pain and was eventually diagnosed with (and I no longer remember the actual name of it) inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs. I was told to take ibuprofen (which is only safe during the second tri) and it did help. Hope that helps!
