So me and my OH went out for kareoke at this place called Alberts last night, (my mom invited us out) anyways we were standing outside so my mom and OH could have a smoke, and my mom was talking to this girl. Well my mom is a very proud grandma and told her "this is my daughter (then touched my belly) and said and this is my grandbaby" This girl was totally infatcuated with my belly, she kept asking is it okay if i touch your belly, :haha: Anyways we were talking and a few years ago she lost her son to SIDS, it was so sad to hear her talk about it. (she was so sweet and told us how we made her day, and how happy she was for us, she was the sweetest girl ever)

When we got back inside and sat down my OH asked well what is SIDS, when i began to explain it to him, he just kept saying i dont want to know dont tell me, I dont want that to happen, ect in a panic. Anyone here know how i can go about telling him, or show him a web site, so his mind is at ease cause all i got out was " it means sudden infant death syndrom, and it can happen to heathly babies..." before he wouldnt let me say anymore, and i dont him to be freaked out since i didnt get to explain fully. Hes such a sensitive guy when it comes to babies, and dying he literally babied me the whole first tri cause he was so scared of miscarrage. So i need a non invasive way to let him know.

well for starters i was reading up on it and saw that that odds of SIDs happening to your baby is only 0.5 per 1000 .. or 0.05% .. that may put his mind at ease a bit before you start telling him what it's all about

Just hand him a printout and with the real facts and stats and tell him it's not as common as it once was xxxx
