Ok, so my LO is 10 weeks old tomorrow and we originally thought that she just had a lot of wind. After speaking to the midwife and her doctor we have determined that she also suffers from silent reflux :( we have put her on novalac reflux formula and she is now suffering constipation. I have been giving her coloxyl but am not comfortable continuing this long term and also trying to get her to take some water between feeds which she hates. Has anyone had a similar problem? I am at the end of my rope with my poor bubba screaming in pain from one thing or another and would love to know what other mums had success with formula wise.

Usually with reflux formula they do cause constipation at first. This usually passes but if it doesn't then see a Dr. They can give you something like lactulose sp? I think you'd need to have it prescribed for a baby though.

Don't give up on the formula though, you can cure the constipation and then hopefully LO will be finally happy :hugs:

Sometimes if our LO hasn't gone for a few days and she's unhappy about it, we give her a glycerin suppository. It's not good to do all the time, but it works in a matter of minutes.

Also, you could try giving a powdered baby probiotic. It's once a day and you mix it with the formula. Helped out LO tons with gas and constipation!
