So we had our 20 week scan. Baby is still a boy and he has all his fingers, toes, and organs.

Bad news! His head isn't wide enough. he is measuring 19+3 and his head is only measuring 17+3. They said it isn't wide enough and can cause inter cranial pressure once he is born because his skull is too small for his brain. they said it is also a sign of a couple rare genetic disorders. They are scheduling me to see a specialist this coming week.

Has anyone else have experience with this? There is no fluid on his brain, they just said his skull was elongated because it isn't growing width wise.

Sorry - I've no experience of this, but didn't want to read and run. Hope your appointment went well and things are looking positive x

Hey hun, I have a daughter with microcephaly (small head). I'm also part of a support group for families of kids with all sorts of cephalies. It sounds like your little guy might have either micro, like my little girl, or craniosynostosis.

Send me a PM if you'd like to chat.

Hi my lg had at 20wk small hc, and had follow up, said was on 3rd centile. Sent away to wait 2wk and see growth pattern, was growing alone that line until 30 then jumped to 18th. Still has small head. Were offered amino which we turned down, but then everything was ok, and now at 7 month stands up on own! Don't panic or google, wait to speak specialist and see how goes. One scan doesn't mean the worst xx
