:cry:I am feeling so down.Everywhere I read on this forum it is mommies telling about how their babies sleep through the night and go 3 to 4 hours between feeds. My boy wakes up exactly every hour and half around the clock for a feed, winding and then he falls asleep.Sometimes he stays awake longer but that is usually 2am in the morning! Why does my boy not sleep longer???He is breastfed on-demand.Maybe that is the problem? He also struggles with reflux....

*hugs* i dont no what to say really cfause i dont breast feed but didnt want to read and run my friends baby is 7 weeks old and rileys 4 months and my mates lil un sleeps longer then Riley lol hope he starts sleeping for you more :)

I'm going to start charging anybody who asks the parents of one of my patients "is your baby sleeping through the night yet? It's a ridiculous question...the answer is almost always "no" but when we give that answer, we feel like bad parents, and we start to believe that something is wrong with our child.

However, even in the 12-month-old group, 50% of infants typically required parental intervention to get back to sleep after waking.

The above study is the definitive work on sleeping habits of (Australian) children to 38 months. The researchers surveyed 3269 parents, with a 96.5% response rate, over a one week period. The parents had to report on their child's sleeping habits over the past 24 hours, plus answer a few questions related to their perceptions of their child's sleep behavior.

Baby's age % babies waking at night
3 months 46%
6 months 39%
9 months 58%
12 months 55%

Thanks Margerle, after reading those links I feel so much better!

It's totally normal hun. Kaya was like that early on and even now she wakes 3 or 4 times in the night. When she's having a growth spurt she still wakes every hour or so. Do you bed share with him? If not perhaps consider it as it really makes BF easier at night - you can feed them and sleep at the same time lol

Kyle didnt sleep through until he was 3 months, plenty time yet!

I believe it is normal for them to wake in the night at such a young age. Don't feel you are doiung something wrong:hug: I have breastfed all my 4, it does get easier, when they have a growth spurt they never seemed to be off the boob!

Gosh Caitlin started doing some sleep throughs but it was not a constant thing - I can't think when it was a regular thing for her but certainly not at 2 months so don't worry at all *hugs*

rhys never sleeps through and ffion wakes up every bloody half an hour!
